    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

So technically outdoor construction was allowed to resume yesterday. Anyone notice any activity?

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

As the thread creator, I have to say my youthful optimism proved very well-founded for 14 years! Alas, all good things must come to an end.

    Charlestown Infill and Small Developments

Is that house on the left flying the Bunker Hill flag? Always thought it would be cool if that flag or this one were more widely adopted as a regional symbol of New England.

Logan Airport Flights and Airlines Discussion

I think the problem is the airline more than the markets. The fact that BOS-NRT/HKG/ICN are all successful routes speaks to strong Boston-Asia demand, much of which is driven by China. But if I'm a loyalty flyer trying to get the Chengdu, for example, will I pick Hainan or an alliance carrier...

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

How crazy would it be to temporarily shut down Storrow Dr. from Cambridge St. to Charlesgate for the duration of this project? It would cut costs, reduce the timeline, and avoid any environmental concerns from a temporary structure over the Charles. Traffic will be bad regardless, so why not...

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

Haha ok so now you're a NIMBY if you don't genuflect for every proposal a developer puts out there? This is an ugly building with very few redeeming qualities. 2014 proposal was very nice, this one is not. Boston can afford to be picky and wait for a design that's worthy of this site.

Pinnacle at Central Wharf (Harbor Garage) | 70 East India Row | Waterfront | Downtown

Chunky, hulking, awful proportions, imposing, does nothing to improve access to the waterfront, looks air-lifted out of South Florida. Keep the garage and let's wait until the next real estate cycle. This thing is a monstrosity.

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

I always assumed a Whole Foods would end up on the ground floor of the new Amazon building(s). Think the two could co-exist? As much as I love TJ's I'm not sure it's big enough to serve a fully built-out Seaport.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Just "Newbury" is fine, let's not overthink it. This is where the GL intersects Newbury, people will figure it out. If you're so concerned, see "Boylston" station.

    Mixed-Use Building | 21-35 W 2nd st | South Boston

I love that Howeler+Yoon was tapped to design this and 212 Stuart St. Really hope both get off the ground. There is an embarrassment of design talent in Boston, about time local developers start giving firms not named Elkus Manfredi a chance!

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

They better watch it or they'll end up spending millions and not getting anything built to show for it. I'm starting to wonder if they have anyone who knows Boston advising them? Cause buying up a block of local businesses in one of the city's most beloved neighborhoods to put up a student...

    The Boston "what if" thread

A Raytheon+UTC headquarters would be a perfect fit for Cambridge Crossing, wouldn't surprise me at all if they end up there. Slightly lower rents, proximity to Kendall, transit/highway access, ability to build to suit.

Dorm Tower @ Emerson College | 1-3 Boylston Place | Downtown

Huh that's funny, Emerson is near top on my list of most loved higher education institutions in Boston. Their investments in the Theater District have been transformational and priceless. The Majestic, the Paramount, the Colonial are all the cultural jewels they are today because of Emerson...

Northern Avenue Bridge Fort Point Channel

Umm ok whether or not you think it's worth the money is an entirely different argument. The fact remains that point-to-point the Northern Ave. bridge would offer the shortest walking route from Dewey Sq. for thousands of Seaport workers. And I'd bet you an Encore Boston Harbor that a ton of...

Northern Avenue Bridge Fort Point Channel

Well that's wrong. If you get out of the T at Dewey Sq. and work at Vertex, Goodwin Proctor, the ICA, BCG, Cengage, or MassMutual, to name a few, a bridge at Northern Avenue would in fact be your shortest walking route.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Well it's a much nicer tower than the Avalon North Station, which for some reason was strangely well-received on this forum despite being Kensington-level dull on one of the city's most prominent gateway sites. Never understood the love (or lack of hate) for that one.

    The New Office/Lab Thread

True. And for that reason I was happy when CVS-owned Aetna decided to keep their HQ in Hartford. I want to see old New England cities do well. Once we get into Fairfield County though all bets are off (ie. GE)--that corner of CT is squarely in NYC's regional economy, which is a direct...

    The New Office/Lab Thread

Or why not just leave them in RI? New England is a regional economy, stealing Hasbro or CVS from RI is just a larger scale version of Boston trying to steal companies from Cambridge. If RI's economy is healthy and thriving, that's good for MA. And right now they need those HQs much more than...
