    Twenty20 @ Northpoint | 20 Child Street | Cambridge

What is the height of this building above ground? I was looking at the building diagrams on page 4 and determined the height to be either 236'6" (from the front elevation) or 236'2" (from the side elevation. The distance below 42'4" is roughly 13'6"). Information? Links?

Portland, ME - New Construction Continued

Not bad. It's been a while since I've roamed these parts, but when I visited my sister in Falmouth a few mouths ago, we drove through this part of town. I was not impressed. Anything to replace what is already there is a plus! Good finds Dr. S!

Sunset Lofts appears to be a cool project. Hopefully this will spur additional development along that stretch of road, which looks pretty down and out.

    New Ideas for the Site

Re: Cambridge Developments I'm all about the archBOSTON forum, but it needs some restructuring in my opinion. A suggestion could be: Boston's Built Environment > "Cambridge Developments" (under Development Projects) or Instead of "Outside Of Boston Metro", maybe it could be "Other New...

Does anyone have the final renderings for Bay House Phase II? The last ones I saw were called a "monolithic block" and still needed tweaking.

What is the status of 88 Ames Street (Ames Street Residences)? Did it get approved on Dec. 2 by the planning board? I read this was 22 stories and 284 feet tall.

Good read. I too am not thrilled with the latest proposal. I would have been satisfied if the developers used a lot more diversity in the size and the make-up of the buildings (like 8, 5, 7, 6 stories, less boxy). This will be another neighborhood in Portland where the parking garage dominates.

Photo update on steroids! Great job! Can't wait to see them when I put the combat boots in the attic and retire next year.

I'm right there with you on this. I prefer Archetype's proposal in this area because it blends in much better than what PDT is proposing. I'm still on the fence about Canal 5's proposal. I couldn't tell if it incorporated brick or not.

It's pretty sad when the parking garage appears to be the tallest building in the project. How does that make sense? This reminds me of the parking garage in the Old Port (which dominates surrounding buildings) and the other one in the eastern waterfront area (with proposals around it which are...

I'm right with you on the highrise for Mercy. I think it would take away some of the mojo from Maine Med up there on the hill. But Strangehat is right, the views are already "owned" by the West Enders above, which I think is BS. I think a 10 story or less building shouldn't effect that cherished...

    Brockton Developments

Have there been any proposals for buildings in the 15-20 story range? Seems like this town could really use one or two.
