Could be a dumb point because I don't know whether red and orange cars are interchangeable... Assuming they are interchangeable, it might be better to have a basically silver colored car using LED lights - either orange or red - to designate the line so that the cars can be moved between lines...

In a very real way we are the government, and this is our hard earned money is being spent. $250M for 4.5 miles equates to $10.6k per foot. The original cost of GLX, near $2B, equates to $106k per foot. Would any of us pay a million dollars of our own money for a 10 foot long driveway, dock...

just for perspective...for $250M the state could buy 25,000 low income residents used cars. It's a lot of money for few miles of track and 5,000 trips a day.
