Innovation Square (iSQ) | 6 Tide St. | Seaport

With this we're back up to 6 cranes in the Seaport (1 here, 2 Omni, 2 L4, 1 Fan Pier). None on the immediate horizon beyond that however

Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

The area directly behind yes, but there's a lot of acreage in the area between Summer and the residential development of Southie. Unifying the two neighborhoods is a project for the next cycle

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

LRT deceleration is much faster than those limits - look at speed of approach to Park St on the track with grade crossings versus, say, Symphony. For CR it's obviously not bloat to avoid ped crossings? But it's unclear if any design decision of near-grade elevated stations without mezzanines is...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I don't think this is actually a primary driver of cost bloat because vertical circulation isn't itself expensive when done in a competent manner (even for the T, South Acton at 9M with 2 elevators vs Chelsea at 20m with 0). In this scenario, where you have a fully grade-separated LRT system...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

One consideration here is an elevated crossover would mean significantly more vertical travel, which is expensive and slow. The island platform would require an overpass raised above the GL envelope, crossing over the road at 30+ft, then descending on the other side for a total of 3+ floors of...

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

The genesis of the entire GL Transformation (change in minimum curve radius from 42 ft Lechmere Inner Loop to 49ft Park St loop) happens today

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Crossing my fingers, but looks like remarkably few negative indicators for construction. Clearly starts will be borked for a while, but the pipeline of U/C projects is reasonably deep and nothing appears to have failed

Seaport Sq. Block N | 350 Summer Street | Seaport

This will finally encase the huge Seaport Square central lot, which is a big deal. But agreed, despite a decade of development there's still plenty of lots to go, which seems like a good thing.

MBTA "Transformation" (Green Line, Red Line, & Orange Line Transformation Projects)

40TPH is highly unusual (Moscow tops out at 38tph with multiple signal blocks per platform), and extremely difficult to achieve with branching due to merge conflicts. Alon does extensive research before making the "developed world" remark, this ain't it.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

The project will increase the number of bays by 50% and add an elevator/staircase connection from the (newly expanded) train hall to the bus concourse. Pretty exciting upgrade imo:

Ah, that’s the elitism we all needed on our forum.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

It's certainly proposed, considering the building went through BPDA approvals and was then leased to Foundation medicine. You may be thinking of N, which is only under subgrade construction, but that also went through a recent NPC and full BCDC design review, so that's also proposed.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Seaport Square Block P | 400 Summer Street is either under construction or starting soon, depending on how you interpret the excavation permit
