I biked this way a couple of weeks ago, and at that point it only looked like they were doing the sidewalks (which desperately needed leveling) so I'm thrilled to see my cynicism denied.

A beer garden run by Castle Island Brewing was supposed to open under the highway a month ago but has been delayed for unclear reasons:

I saw a construction crew out finally fixing the slanted sidewalks on Summer St north of Melcher this week. Why they don't just build out a cycle track at the same time, I have no idea.

Last I heard, it was for sale, and currently closed for the summer: https://twitter.com/KOCatering_Pies/status/983312507891798016 They'd been having trouble staying open through construction which may be part of it, but it sounds like they're really just focusing on their Eastie location.

Was there ever a moment's consideration (assuming it's practicable) to having either this or the hotel include a new entrance to the subway station, so that, for instance, the inbound 9 bus wouldn't have to take a left onto A St and circle around the block?
