    So that leaves only the third floor retail on the tower side, and the small storefront on the Washington st. side left to lease. Unless by "first floor" they mean the entrance and escalator up to the second floor. In which case the first floor is still open.

    The mission side has a restaurant with a fairly uninspired menu (mainly focused on the business lunch crowd I think) and a bank. So there is very little activation there. I realized this was completed in 2009, but it really is going to be considered a travesty once the sales force tower opens...

    I just got back from San Francisco and happened to look at the Millennium Tower there (built by the same developers) and this is miles ahead of it in terms of street activation and presence.

    It's just another form of mixed use really. You can have residences and offices in the same building. You can also have luxury residences and regular residences in the same building. The luxury residences have more amenities to justify their cost, thus the separate lobby ect.

    If Amtrak has a feed of the speed from the train itself, wouldn't a trivial amount of software be able to compare the speed to an allowable speed map? Then you could sound an alarm in the control center or the cab itself?
