I'm fascinated that 225 Centre can't keep retail. It seems like a great spot for it and the other newish building a block away on the other side of center has a lot. It may be property manager but I wonder if getting some matching retail on the other side of Centre wouldn't help.

There has actually been a fair amount of new construction on E 1st between L and Farragut. Not as much in the lower end, but lots of 4ish story condo buildings. TBH I find the demands for an all commercial development here irrational and very short sighted. They are asking for an office park...

This site is actually near some pretty recent zoning that allowed all of the development along this stretch. It was supposed to taper off at the end to the park. Pretty standard stuff.

Yea, it's a boring as can be. Signage on buildings is unfortunately a bit part of Walsh's Boston but the companies should at least be trying. Ideally, it would be integrated into the building the way it was on the old one.

I loved Hillstone so much. It was sunken but that gave you a great view on the plaza, let you feel a bit removed form the chaos but still able to see it. And as chains go, the food was good while not insanely priced and the service was phenomenal. There is nothing like that in the area any more...

The only part of this project I was concerned about was piercing that top parapet. It actually has turned our really well--I think those rooms will have a cool retrofit feel, in addition to amazing views on the park side.

I drove by this the other day and was so impressed. It is huge, but complex and interesting. I'm really looking forward to this being done.

Why design a new building when you can stretch one you've already designed a short distance away? If this were a spectacular tower I think it would have a much better chance with the Leather District residents. As is, it is rewarmed Hub on Causeway.

Bingo. They also want a PDA to avoid any zoning issues so the city will give them Comm Ave to let that happen.

Pretty sure Klarmon is on the B School. They like historicist stuff. And Tata, which isn't historicist, is a big ugh because of it's refusal to relate to the river. Bill Rawn is a really good architect but his best work is not on this campus.
