Very Government Center; sufficiently boring for a government office. Good building on its own, but out of context completely. That corner deserved better; something that does not stand out in contrast with its surroundings.

It looks like the intrusion of just another insurance company (no matter who the tenants end up being) onto Boylston St., shutting down yet another block on a street that ought to have a ton of mixed use buildings, including apartments that are affordable to more than the wealthy.

As long as those god-awful bulging buildings are eliminated forever from the Hurley proposals.

I believe the lot is where the previous Brattle Book Shop existed before it burned down and then reappeared two doors down, where it enjoys it's historic influence in Boston. I wonder if the owner of Brattle Books retained the deed to the land in question and leased it for parking. Any...

I believe they are Little Brothers of St. Francis, on of many off-shoots of the original Franciscans. They serve the destitute and poor among us.

It appears that it's a stairwell built into the remaining garage made of concrete. I presume it will be used as an emergency exit or as a way accessing the garage.

I was told 25 or more years ago that those empty store fronts were owned by Drucker, who uses them as a tax write off. Anyone else hear this explanation? And yes, they've been empty since the fire in the LGBT center building years ago.

If Apple is going to install them, who cares about them? There are already many locations around Boston with bollards. Even the new section of the BPL has those silly stone "tables" outside on Boylston, that I am told were to serve the same purpose. If it makes Apple feel better, let them do...

I will be happy if they just don't include hardscape that is susceptible to the freeze/thaw cycle: brownstone, slate, loose bricks, high-maintenance decorative paving, or anything else that will require a lot of time and effort to keep it looking clean and tidy. I do fear for the trees...

As I reluctantly expected. Boston builds with expensive architectural designs. Boston fears lawsuits. Boston sucks the joy out of expensive projects with metal barriers or just neglect. I wish I weren't so cynical after seeing so much money wasted in the past 6 decades, and so many hopes dashed.

These renders have me applauding, as long as they don't get cheapened by second rate skins along the way. I hope there will be a more graceful juxtaposition of the housing with this district. The housing still appears isolated as Columbia Point has been.

Great progress....and a chance to fix all the streets in this district (?).
