    XenForo Update

New forum looks pretty good. However, when a post has new replies, how do I go to the first new reply since last viewing the thread? The old forum has this option. But I can't seem to find anything which will bring me to the start of new replies and I have to hunt down where I left off and it is...

    Whats left to build on?

Looking around the area, there's actually a surprising amount of infill that could happen in that part of Eastie. Never realized that before.

    My Tokyo Neighborhood's Neighbor: Koishikawa

Same. I often wonder how difficult it would be to live there without any prior exposure to the language. I imagine in the major cities, English might actually be enough to get by on?

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Sell off basically all of Reservoir Yard and use the funds towards a Needham Branch with a new, slightly larger carhouse facility at Needham Jct. If any property is kept at Reservoir, it would basically be for laying over and not for maintenance and servicing. Completely rework the whole...

    Big Dig Tunnel--

I don't know what exactly weigh station ops currently are like, but more automation of weigh stations sounds pretty brilliant. Even if it all it does is halve the staffing requirement, it would mean they could staff the stations twice as often. But of course, if it is such a brilliant idea...

North Station, Charles River Draw, & Tower A

The T is planning on ordering more flats for the next order. Their reasoning is that it is better for ADA mobility throughout the train, particularly in an emergency. The benefit that they haven't even considered is that flats have better dwell times.

North Station, Charles River Draw, & Tower A

I highly doubt the B&M or any successor would be the land owner, anyway. The property was shed when the railroad was flailing to escape bankruptcy and rid itself of as much property taxes as possible.

    Big Dig Tunnel--

From what I read somewhere, the driver was claiming to have made the same run with the same type of load multiple times. Perhaps this load was a little taller for some reason, but he assumed it was the same and went on his merry way thinking he knew the usual route was the correct route.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link Nah, a Worcester Patriots train already did a test run a year or two ago. It went Worcester to Framingham on the B&A and Framingham to Foxboro on the Framingham Secondary. The speeds were too low at the time for it to be worth it, but Mass Coastal is almost done with...

Boston - Most Embarrassing Blight That Tourists See

We should be glad that Gillette is still here providing manufacturing jobs and doing so while being close to downtown. They should really sell off their parking lots, though, and just have whatever the developer builds on them replace the spots in a garage.
