    Wind Turbines in Mass

The lease is a lease and can’t be canceled by a hostile administration unless the operator violates the terms by, say, showering federally owned waters with hundreds of shards of fiberglass after knowingly installing faulty turbine blades.

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

The end of both of these scenarios is going to Federal court and the project getting blocked by a 22 year old FedSoc lifetime appointee. I don’t think people realize how openly hostile the federal government is going to be toward blue cities and especially toward climate resilience projects...

What a joke that such a nothing building requires so many variances.

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

    1) Federal government could claim that the flood barrier impinges on NPS territory (Harbor Islands), thus requiring an act of Congress. 2) Even if they didn’t, the Secretary of the Army (a political appointee) could just veto the project at the direction of the President.

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

I'm trying to get across an idea that people need to begin to digest. People in the thread above (Delvin) were discussing the possibility of local/state/regional funding for a harbor flood protection project. I'm trying to explain that it is not going to be possible because the federal...

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

All that stuff is great but it’s not going to make much of a difference.

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

Incorrect. The federal government can, has, and will block projects, regardless of funding source, based purely on political whims. “Navigable waterways” is just the excuse that lets the feds do it. This is the exact reason why New York has a Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and not a Brooklyn-Battery...

    Boston Harbor Flood Protection Projects

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

The evidence I have is that the scaffolding is gone from the east side of the bridge and the architectural finish is nowhere to be seen.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

You can be snide all you want but please don’t be blind. The sides of the bridge in the model you show are smooth. The sides of the bridge in reality are completely exposed. Others have said that the architectural finish is being installed later but I have seen no proof of that.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

Do you have proof of this or is it just wishful thinking?

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

Have you even looked at the renderings? The smooth sides of the bridge are gone. It looks like they got VEd out.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

It doesn’t look anything like its rendering. Why does the city allow this kind of bait and switch?
