    Fastest Proposal-to-build in MBTA History?

Looking at the the Red-Blue connector and Transit Pitch threads, I got to wondering- what was the fastest time between a MBTA rail expansion was proposed, and when it was actually built? I would not include the days of BERy, because that was a different agency with a different way of doing...

Off topic, but hey, what are they doing to the Shoe Machinery Building?

SKY Everett | 114 Spring Street | Everett

Ugly facade, but I think this would be really good overall for Everett. Especially the commitment to leave room for the Silver Line ROW and station. That said, I am incredulous that this won't be downgraded to a 5 story apartment building with a convenience store on the ground floor.

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Looking at the Blue Hill Avenue corridor got me thinking: could they extend the Mattapan Line along the median of the Cummins Highway to the South entrance of Blue Hill Avenue Station? Of course, crossing Mattapan Square would be a nightmare, but it's only like 1500 feet down the road and would...

    Graffiti Images, Art, or Nuisance

I personally love graffiti and the way it looks on blank walls, but I understand how people who own those walls would get pissed off with people spray painting them.

    Lynn Waterfront Redevelopment

I wonder how Lynn plans on activating its waterfront. It is severely disadvantaged by the RR tracks, the Lynnway, the parking lots, and the remenants of some port facilities. Of course, it didn't help to have a big fire that destroyed all of the industrial buildings in east of the RR.

    Crazy Transit Pitches (Maine Edition)

I really wonder if BRT implementation in Portland would be a catalyst for other, larger NE cities (Worcester, New Haven, etc) to start their own BRT projects. If a little Maine city of 67,000 people could do it, why couldn't 185,000 Worcester do it? I know the completion of the CT Fastrack in...

General Google Mapping Tips & Fun

Interesting to see the new imagery showing elevated construction progress post-Lechemere. I wonder when they will update the 3D imagery. Right now it still shows Sudbury + Verizon building under construction.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Why didn't they build a steel-framed elevated in the model of the previous one, considering what a massive graffiti magnet the concrete will be? Personally, I love the look of graffiti on concrete, but I know the MBTA doesn't.

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

Is there any news on the air rights development at Silver Line Way. I was especially intrigued by the promises of a new station.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

Why couldn't they do this type of center allignment (with signal priority) on the Washington Street Silver Line? There are a few sections where the narrow street might not permit it, but it seems like this would be low-hanging fruit compared to resident demands for light-rail and subway...

    Urbx "Skyscraper" Supermarket, Seaport

I seriously doubt they are considering building on that park site. My guess is because their office is down the street from the spot they were like "hey that looks like a good place to put in our renders."

    General Boston Discussion

Sorry to bump up this thread to ask a question, but does anyone know the history of why Summer St is elevated through the Seaport? The bridge over A Street appears to be quite old, so I'm guessing it predated the recent developments there.
