I can't see AA expanding into secondary markets, even more so now that they just filed for Chapter 11. They tend to be the most conservative, hub-focused (either through their own or through their partners) in expanding. It also seems like AA tends to let their partners do the growth. I believe...

Someone suggestion Delta taking over the Boston-Paris flight, who is a SkyTeam partner with AF. Not sure if this has any truth to it at all (I thought the AF flight does well, and offers a much more competitive product to the other European carriers than Delta would).

If I'm not mistaken, Lufthansa carries a big bulk of the New England-India traffic through its flights. India could become more important if the Boston tech sector continues to get bigger and bigger, and India continues its economic climb. I don't see Delta taking over for AF at Boston.

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport A big part is that is where the capital and connections are. Venture capitalists and investors tend to be involved in their investments, so they want them nearby. Boston, I think, has gotten much better in this regard. You're even seeing SV-based VC...

I didn't realize it was in the Westin, and not the retail area of the building.

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Yes, Boston is a leading center for medicine and education, and is a leader when it comes to R&D (and the talent that comes with that) in general. No arguments with you on that. My focus is on the software/electronic tech and web-based sector, and...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Boston lacks the investment and support environment that Silicon Valley and New York City has, particularly on the angel front. It has gotten much better in the last 5 years or so, and I think it will improve even more as the number of start-ups...

Emirates will not go to Canada anytime soon, outside of the 3 weekly flights to Toronto. The UAE-Canada only allows for three flights per week (two carriers per country) between each country. That isn't going to change anytime, as Canada and the UAE have had rather public spats over it. Calgary...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport I think California may be the worst offender when it comes to politics, and particularly the Bay Area (San Francisco makes Boston look like a unregulated wild west), when it comes to politics. Which is why I think companies are expanding their...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Doesn't DC have a large college student body base as well? I know it's not Boston, but it's a good size demographic population. If Boston is going to compete in the start-up, and maintain them as they grow, they need to figure out a way to make the...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport You need entrepreneurs to create those jobs. I understand what your saying, but you need to make Boston an affordable enough place for entrepreneurs to survive and grow. I posted a thread on Boston's high-tech scene, which I think is starting to...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport I thought the purpose for this was for to attract and keep young, aspiring entrepreneurs with low rates so they can invest their time, money, and energy into their businesses, not the professional, career-oriented or college student crowds.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport I agree. I think $1,000 would be right, and anything more would just led to those seeking a little more space (with a roomie) looking at better value housing options.

Pretty cool then. I think Emirates could draw from the Boston/New England market very well. How is Iberia doing? I've heard that it wasn't the best performing route. Also, when did Icelandair go year-round? Didn't it use to be a seasonal route? Is it daily?
