The Parker Boston (nee LaGrange Tower) | 47-55 LaGrange St. | Downtown

Re: 47 LaGrange Street | Former BYMCU Parking Lot | Theater District The original shadow bill was passed in 1990. The shadow bill has several exceptions, including, in effect, a shadow bank that permits a limited amount of significant new shadows from buildings constructed in the Midtown...

The Beverly (née Merano) (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End

Re: The Merano (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End Does anyone know whether the sign depicted in the rendering has actually been approved? It is possible that the actual approved signage will differ from what is shown. Of course, it is also possible that it will not.

    Somerville Infill and Small Developments

That would make it the State's most expensive public school construction project. Newton North opened in the Fall of 2010 at a price tag of $197.5 million, at the time the most expensive public school ever built in Massachusetts.

Helpful, but Chapter 40A does not apply in Boston. While the standards for a variance are similar, the Boston Zoning Enabing Act,Chapter 665 of the Acts of 1956 applies to Boston.

45 Province was not a PDA. The project received zoning variances from the Zoning Board of Appeal.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Are you sure about the height? I know everyone on this board has been saying that it would be taller than the Pru, but a recent Boston Business Journal article said it would be 740 feet tall, not that I trust them to get it right.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Sorry to disagree. Gensler's current design might not be groundbreaking, but it's much better than this older design, particularly the office component (on the right in the rendering above). We don't need another box, particularly in this highly visible location and particularly as squat as this...

The Beverly (née Merano) (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End

Re: The Merano (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End When I was there a week or two ago, they had already installed some trees on Causeway Street on the side across from the Garden.

Anyone here anything about this potential project in Kenmore Square - a new flat iron proposal. From Mark Development's website: A rendering is also included on the website.

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

Did anyone notice how short the Four seasons tower looks in this model? It looks much shorter than the Pru and the new Weiner/Samuels proposed tower looks about the same height. I know that the perspective can be deceiving, but I don't think that it accounts for what we are seeing in this...

Yes. It is the tallest residential tower that is slated to be constructed first.

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

I received an e-mail from HYM that they are moving to a different floor in the building "out of the way of the crane" because "it's time to start demolition for the residential building at Bullfinch Crossing."

The Harlo (née Skanska Fenway Project (Burger King))| 1350 Boylston Street | Fenway

Re: Skanska Fenway Project (Burger King) | 1350 Boylston Street | Fenway I know that was reported as a rumor by someone on here but I have seen nothing in the press to support that. On the contrary, I have seen reports about Wegman's future Fenway store recently. Those reports could, of...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

The last word was that the residential tower and the hotel are a go now. The office tower is awaiting an anchor so the timing is uncertain.

Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

According to the Moxy Hotels website, the "Moxy Boston Downtown" is scheduled to open in late 2017. Seems unlikely but hopefully an indication that construction will actually start soon.

Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

For purposes of comparison, the Flatiron Building is 190 feet wide on its widest side and 307 feet tall for a 1.62 height-to-width ratio. Its less about how wide it is and more about what you do with it. I'm still very optimistic that this will be a successful, iconic building for the area.

Um. I don't think anything happened here that we didn't already know about. The link simply brings you to the comments received on the DPIR filing by Midwood last spring. There is no news here yet.

Correct. It had nothing to do with safety. And given the failure of the previous development scheme and the hole that Millenium was prepared to fill in, Millenium had great leverage to get the City to permit the demolition.
