JetBlue seems to be following Southwest instead of trying to make the first move. The service to Phoenix, which JetBlue did try before, will be a bloodbath with US Airways, JetBlue, and Southwest flying it (and two of those having hubs in Phoenix).
Very nice on the European front. How is Iberia...
I see Diane von Furstenberg is suppose to open a boutique in July at 73 Newbury Street (on the DVF site). What is it replacing?
Any other luxury retailers looking to enter the Boston area? Do the upscale, designer brand boutiques in Boston do alright?
JetBlue continues its growth:

Also, did the international terminal finish its makeover (wasn't part of the plan to create two more international gates)? Any words on how all the international...
I think cities with headquarters will see a better connection in terms of working and donating in the community.
Not to mention you'll have a cluster of high-paying executives who will spend money in the local economy and have the resources and knowledge (well, most executives have the later...
The problem with getting F1 is it is insanely expensive to host. I believe Shanghai and Abu Dhabi spent at least $500 million to build a F1-specific track. And the fee just to host each year to a greedy Bernie and his his crew is somewhere in $20 million range. And Bernie doesn't tend to sign...
Re: Mandarin Oriental
As beautiful as the hotel inside is, I wish it had a more dramtic exterior (think Hotel de Paris in Monaco). I don't hate it, but it just lacks that "elegance" that the MO should have.
Re: Mandarin Oriental
The RC (I think the second one is the RC) has two penthouses with better views) for sale:

More info on JetBlue's expansion in Boston. Daily flights to increase by 30% by next summer to current cities.
(On note, found out that Lufthansa is flying 3-class, widebody service fight times a...
Looking over the Lufthansa flights (non-stop), it looks like the Boston-Munich flight is a 330/340 during the winter.
Also, looks like JetBlue really added a lot of flights (no new destinations) to Boston.
Sorry about some of grammatical errors in my post (such as it's, instead of its).
Emirates would be an interesting choice. The business travel and pure passenger numbers between India-Boston/New England have to be rather high. With the tech trade (and a booming economy) in India and the huge...
If Brazil's economy keeps developing (getting the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics also help), maybe we'll see a business travel sector develop between Boston/New England and Brazil over time. Plus, maybe the 787 will help make it more affordable for airliners to fly such a route.
I believe...
Routes on the international, long-haul routes are really based on the yields. A route that is heavy on economy-paying passengers is nice, but it's how many paying-passengers are flying in business and first class. If you don't have that, don't expect an airline to invest in those routes.
Does...
I know Korean Air has said they wanted to serve Boston once they get the 787 (whenever that will be). Seoul would be a great place to connection to other destinations throughout Asia.
Didn't an airline from China plan on starting service to Beijing (?)
Also, I wonder if Emirates will launch a...
I don't believe Boston is a slot-allocated airport. Airports like Tokyo, Chicago O'Hare, London Heathrow, New York-JFK are. Crowded in terms of gate space could be an issue.
I thought one of the reasons that Boston has problems with getting service to Asia is that the flights can't fly...
Re: W Hotel
Never eaten at one his restaurants, but I've heard he does a very nice job in keeping the standards up across them (unlike other empire-driven chefs).
Not really a fan of the W Hotel design concept (too trendy and kind of "look at me!"), but it's a great addition to Boston.
Re: W Hotel
Celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is opening an outpost his restaurant empire at the W Hotel.

I didn't know SW added St. Louis-Boston flights. The additions (and the competition) by JetBlue and Southwest should have a great impact on travelers and the city of Boston (offering the state and city another card to lure businesses).
Any news on the international front? Did Lufthansa makes...
Looks like JetBlue is increasing its flights on the Boston-BWI route.
Southwest has added Denver to its destinations served to and from Boston. They've also upped the ante on the Boston-BWI route with two more additional daily flights each way to start in the spring.
I don't see the 2020 Olympics being held in the Americas with Rio getting the 2016 game. I think Africa (which I believe is being encouraged to bid), Europe, or Asia will get the 2020 games.
However, depending on how 2022 goes, 2024 would be better.
