Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Re: Columbus Center Agreed. For those of us who are genuinely interested in what is happening at this site, this thread has become completely useless. It's the ArchBoston equivalent of Jerry Springer.

    The Clarendon

True, Pei just got the lion's share of the glory since Cobb was working FOR him, not WITH him, at that time.

    A 21st Century Urban Project

I'm not sure what lessons are to be taken from the KC photos here. I respect the restoration of a historic theater, but other than that, it seems to be a modern entertainment district with a sports arena. It's sort of the party version of a lifestyle center (think Ybor City in Tampa). How is...

    Frank Lloyd Wright LEGO sets!

Sure, one can critique the accuracy of Lego's representation of Wright; but they get major kudos for even attempting. Most architects that attempt to replicate Wright don't do so well. I know my little one will have a Lego Fallingwater to admire (after I have the fun of assembling it)!

Station Landing | Wellington Circle | Medford

The intersection is certainly a big limitation for this project. If it were more of a conventional intersection, the project would feel much more connected to its surroundings. Although this project isn't perfect in a "New Urbanest" sense, it is far better than conventional development patterns...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

My mistake, I meant to say the BSA, not BRA. Here's a link to the Brick Bottom district design competition. http://www.architects.org/shaping_communities/index.cfm?doc_id=175

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

The "Brick Bottom" district in Somerville, just north of North Point is an ideal spot for an MLS stadium. The BSA just held a design competition for the site, but I doubt anyone made such a proposal. The site is currently disjointed and mainly industrial, but could be redeveloped and reconnected...
