Stillings Garage Expansion | 22 Boston Wharf Rd | Fort Point

That's just bad architecture. The sooner we can cycle-out of this seemingly-endless style, the better.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I suspect (and hope) the cost and logistics of upgrading 27 B and C line surface stations will force some hard choices on stop consolidation.

One Greenway (Parcel 24) | 0 Kneeland Street | Chinatown

I like how having a place to live near centers of employment has turned into a game of chance.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower PoMo was the worst. It was all about making terrible decisions and defending them with the idea that it was just "irony" at work.

Marine Wharf (Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites) | 660 Summer St | Seaport

I absolutely love the massing, but the materials look uh...not so hot.

    Silver Line to Chelsea

The state of the Silver Line tunnel is just plain embarrassing:

    Allston-Brighton Infill and Small Developments

It still has the dated, bargain basement exterior.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District This was really the one part of the building that needed the most attention, and they made an excellent choice.

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

Looks like it could be part of the Ritz complex, and definitely riffs on the Millennium Tower. It's long past time for something new.

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

The design looks ready for 2004. I'm legitimately surprised that Boston architecture seems to have been stuck in a timewarp for so long now. You wouldn't roll-out a mid-70s design in 1990, and something from 1986 would unlikely to be proposed in 2000. But here we are.

NEMA Boston | 399 Congress St. | Seaport

Re: Residences at 399 Congress St (formerly Madison Seaport Hotel) It looks like the stone and wood will go on the ground level. The rest will be generic precast.

NEMA Boston | 399 Congress St. | Seaport

Re: Residences at 399 Congress St (formerly Madison Seaport Hotel) Keep 2/3 of the sampler, and delete the portion on the right.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Gotta hit their quota of facade styles while dancing around fixing the actual issue with the design.

Hotel Project (Current Shell Station) | 1241 Boylston St | Fenway

The only tweak I'd made is to get rid of the misaligned windows on the bottom half and extend the aligned windows from the top half down to the base.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District Cohesiveness is not synonymous with boring. The misconception among architects that a design needs to have a jarring - and often exhausted - motif bolted-on to spice things up is detrimental to the finished product.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District The tan portion with the multistory window frames is the only part I'd wish to see excised from the design. The rest is great.

    121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

Brick pavers inevitably succumb to frost heaving and become hazards to those with mobility impairments.

Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downtown

The renovation of the Little Building reminds me of that one season of This Old House where they set out to renovate a barn, and started off by tearing-down the barn. (I kid, I kid)
