At some point, the trend of framing multiple stories of windows with one big frame needs to die.

I see they decided to crown a masterful example of historical preservation with a Sears vinyl siding motif. Brilliance.

It speaks to the glacial pace of architecture in Boston these days that you can build something that looks like it went up 15 years earlier and it's considered cool and good. I can't imagine a 1975 design going up in 1990, but a 2002 design in 2017 is no problem at all.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's just a base layer or something to help stage the heavy equipment. Those photos gave me flashbacks to the Silver Line transitway pavement failing immediately after opening, and the LA Orange Line BRT transitway having to close twice for repaving in the first few years of...

I'm honestly surprised they paved large sections of it, then moved in heavy equipment to build the rest of the infrastructure. I would've thought they'd wait until the last minute to pave, but I guess I'm not a project manager.

Hey remember when we were going to get a commuter rail spur to the BCEC? Did that plan finally get put out of our misery? Did it finally dawn on them that going to all that trouble to drop a station where it wouldn't be useful to the rest of the neighborhood, might not be the best idea?

Are they the firm that frames like four stories of windows with a big white square in every damn project, no matter what, or is that someone else?

The new design is much, much better.

The grey/white vertical panels that look like vinyl siding are off-putting, but the brick is well-done and lightyears beyond what we've seen on much ritzier accommodations. I'm a huge fan of the proportions, and glad to see a building that isn't a monolithic cube or jutting out at random...

The metal panels were added about 7 or 8 years ago. The facade used to be painted concrete, I believe.
