1400 Boylston Street | Star Market & Gulf | Fenway

I miss that Safeway ... tasty tasty sandwiches made to order every day that I worked up the street. The two folks who made them had magic hands. (Pre self checkout; pre Starbucks, so it has been a while.)

Agreed, @Ruairi Folks know I live here, and have since 2013 so I am biased positively toward much of what has happened here (certainly not so for everything). One thing I do like very much, however, is the curtain wall against the tracks: that Lots EF, G, JK, N, and H absorb sound from I-93...

@gac108 - The remaining lots (with structures planned) are: A, B, C, D, LM, I2, Q2 R, V1. Sites I3 and V2 will likely be temporary event areas (I3) or extended plot (V2's farmers' market). The lots under construction are: EF, G, H, U, I, and Q1 (punchcard stage). Finally, the lots delivered...

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

It's not too bad. The profile of One Congress arcs away from a viewer's perspective in most locations (there are several as spots on the curtain wall where the reflectivity is more playful, but the setup for it to be defined, persistent problem is complex). The angle of solar incidence could be...

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

When I toured to buy, some of the glossy literature said 480ft, but their offices had a diagram that clearly said 496ft. When on the roof deck, they delightfully said "you're 500ft above the city", which I attributed to rounding. In all seriousness, one of the units I reviewed was "over 465ft...

Yep ... check my posts (1,700 and 1,711) for some timing details.

Agreed. But when workers removed the billboard several weeks ago, they did so with residents' cars parked just below and inside of the worksite (subject to all manner of crud falling from above). Despite previously coning off swaths of Lot U for soil testing, no one thought to 1) restrict...

    441 Morgan Ave | Lot U | Cambridge Crossing | Cambridge

Update: we closed Lot U on 28 May and all cars were moved to Lot C for temporary valet parking by VPNE. Those folks will be transferred to market rate self parking in Lot H in 4Q2021. Site preparation for construction begins today, 1 June. The emptiness of 29 May:

Quick updates... - From seven to one: Lot EF lost its construction crane this week, so the only remaining crane until the Lot U construction begins is the absolute unit at Lot I. - More food: Tatte will open at 222 Jacobs Street (Lot JK) on 11 June. (I included this in the retail thread.) -...

Tatte will be opening at Cambridge Crossing (222 Jacobs Street) on 11 June 2021 (confirmed via Tweet).

I don't know the limits, but the (smaller and just as unattractive) banner at LoveJoy Wharf was up for > 2.0 yrs (and a piece of it, spanning two floors, for 2.5 yrs).

The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

The top of the structure's shorter segment will house the Skydeck wading pool. You can see part of the railing that matches the renders on the website. Their glossy literature isn't robust at naming each amenity and locating it on a profile view. Visible features like that at the Sudbury housed...

True, labs can be tall (I noted that ones I have worked in have been), but most aren't for all sorts of logistics and specific reasons. The fewer floors I have to chaperone a dewar the better! But there is a limit, enforced by the city, here so FAA limits really are moot. We can disagree with...

BU Data Sciences Center | 665 Commonwealth Avenue | BU Central

The apartment tower in CX's Lot I went to almost 240' without any steel accompaniment throughout the winter. Plus, as @JumboBuc stated, the core is a support component of the steel. ;)

Oh to the Em Gee that is stunning! The cosmologist in me loves those asymmetrical columns; the artist in me can't believe he agrees with the other guy. In all seriousness, something this whimsically grounded *would* have been a marvelous example of how building a bit higher here could have...

In other news ... the only (superficial) additions that await Tatte are its name placards. Then, final permit inspections. Everything customer facing looks done, with seats, fans, tables, lamps, etc carefully positioned and ready for peeps. I Tweeted to get a date but the Tatte account is mum...

Lamplighter Brewery was reconfirmed as a "go" in December, February, and April at our meetings so there wasn't too much concern they wouldn't open (unless someone had been feeding us a line...). DivCo folks wrapped the lower windows of the building with "we're working in here but won't be done...

    Park 151 | 151 N First Street | Cambridge Crossing | East Cambridge

Steel is at level 12, but has been stalled since Monday. A semi delivered a new hook block today, so I suspect there was either an 1) equipment failure or 2) a need to transition to a beefier block. No new trolley was part of the delivery.

...and then they're going to feel the nearly 4th world nature of our roads... I know, I know ... wrong thread. ;) That's actually a really spiffy view: showcasing a mostly complete perspective of our high rises, if not the diversity of some of our low rise architecture.

For those of us who have lived here for a significant period of time, the neighborhood stitching feels rather thoughtful, especially with the new retail core (Tatte nearly open!) - and at least w/r/t what is open. That said, ripping up part of Lot T's park in favor of our dog park is an odd...
