Lots G & H / 26 October 2020 Lot G's work continues on the rooftop HVAC (and other) systems. The anticipated continued late night cladding work has stalled (maybe a materials delay), although other site work begins before 0700 daily. Lot H steelworkers positioned the first beams for the...

Lot I / 26 October 2020 The crane grew since Friday's installation! It has been in use all day, with the red crawler crane (no longer able to contribute to the core's construction) broken down today and shipped home.

Lot I / 23 October 2020 Crane installation finished yesterday afternoon. Site crewmembers have been calibrating and testing it since then. The climbing apparatus is at the base of the crane (first time I have seen that). The residential building core is at level 15 (of 21) above grade, or...

Some of my historic posts on the main CX thread show the new floodwater mitigation system installation beneath the drumlin south of Lot W. Low throughput pumps circulate the water, but honestly high winds do more to break up surface frog kaka than those systems. I can add some images later if...

Lot I / 20 October 2020 Looking north beyond Lot W (housing the now open Cafe Beatrice). Crane segments began arriving around lunch and the installers worked until 1800. These dudes were rockin' the view from ~33m.

The crane jumped on 18 October ... That's a tall bird for this neighborhood.

Quick update: Lot I's tower crane components are being delivered today. Too bad I can't upload time lapses: I shoot a lot of them of our CX construction and the crane construction ones are spifftastic. The building's core reaches to (above grade) level 13. I will post static images later.

Cafe Beatrice soft opened this AM ... That marks the end of a 12 year dry spell of no retail in CX: let there be eatz!

    Park 151 | 151 N First Street | Cambridge Crossing | East Cambridge

Lot I / 16 October 2020 The core is at the eleventh floor. As a refresher: This building will include 21 usable floors, be 250-ft tall at the top of the mechanical screen, and include an 18-ft fire monopole. For reference, the screen height is 13-ft taller than Twenty|20's screen pinnacle.

Zoned principally for retail (as well as DivCo provided commuting amenities). DivCo confirmed that as recently as two weeks ago on our call, but they didn't confirm which tenants would occupy the space.

We had quite a few Philips folks here already when the building opened in January (and subsequently closed in March). Given the new partners identified (Sanofi-Aventis, BMS, Will Gilson's three restaurants) and, as yet, unrevealed (Lots EF, Q1, & U), there is the potential for lots of activity...

Lot H / 1 October 2020 Two notices sent to CX residents (my boldface): <<Dear Neighbors, The construction at the Cambridge Crossing’s Site H (350 Water Street) is progressing and in order to expedite the schedule with quiet activities, work will be starting on Saturdays at 7:00 AM taking place...

Those auto sound/security system and legal services buildings across the street aren't too spiffy, either.

Wow...end of an era. Too bad they couldn't have integrated the old Tropical Fish and Reptile store into a ground floor retail suite. :p

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

The studies are large: well powered, lighted, and would accommodate a Murphy bed if someone had the desire to integrate one. I wouldn't, as studies (at least the 2br+ floorplans) don't have windows, since they are interior facing. As I said, I'm not looking at any 3bds or 3bds+, so I didn't...

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

Pricing depends on level, but units begin at ~$3.6 million and ascend from there. There is some price compression among the three and four bedroom units, so I don't know if they breach eight figures for a four bedroom at the top. I wasn't looking at those.

The Sudbury (Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower) | 50 Sudbury St | GCG Phase I | Gov't Center

Condo deliveries aren't until late 1Q2021. The apartments will be delivered earlier than the eleven floors of condos, since most of the latter are in various states of completion. For example, the units I'm looking at on the upper floors are only roughed out with connections, but have no hvac...

Lot I / 23-24 September 2020 Surprise! The core has risen above street level prior to pouring the bathtub (and with the lateral bracing struts in place). Methinks DivCo wants to motor prior to the sloppiness of late fall (or COVID-19, round 2). From 23 Sept, evening: From 24 Sept, morning:
