Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Big Lower Manhattan/NY Financial District vibes in the first few photos, if I'm being honest. Great shots! I haven't been able to see this (or really anything downtown) since COVID... looking forward to getting down there again soon.

    Best Cafes of Boston

A touch outside of your range (it's on the border with Boston) but Brothers & Sisters Cafe in Brookline Village has great coffee and sandwiches.

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

A little bit of contrast never hurt anybody. I wouldn't advocate for a city filled with One Congresses but I feel the building's presence will enrich the city's diverse architectural history. At the very least, it is better than what it is replacing.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Possibly the sharpest angle this tower has, if only because the midrise "bustle" is obscured. Nice shot!

Doyles | 3484 Washington st | Jamaica Plain

This is really exciting. IMO Brassica managing the Doyle's space is about as good of an outcome as you can get, short of the original owners coming back. And the grocery store is a huge win for the immediate area. I hope this gets approved ASAP.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

These honestly look great. Also, if you zoom in you can get a little preview of what the expansion will look like on the system map.

    Transit history/trivia quiz

Let's see... Airport, Wood Island, Orient Heights, Suffolk Downs, and Wonderland for Blue. I'm unsure about the Orange... Oak Grove seems to most likely but I have not been in some time. Clueless on Red.

I found this photo by @Boston02124 to be really superb.

Where am I? The photo contest

Yes, it's the lobby of City Hall. It's full-height and tucked in the back from the main entrance. There's an elevated section of the lobby underneath and it's actually a pleasant place to sit, if a little loud... any speaking in the lobby gets bounced around and seemingly amplified.

Dorchester Bay City (nee Bayside Expo Ctr.) | Columbia Point

It's incredible to me that there's no street connections proposed between the site and Harbor Point. Pedestrian paths are good but the efficiencies of directly connecting the two areas by even a single road seem obvious

    Hall of Fame Nominees

Boston has a small but delightful legacy of cast-iron architecture with only 5 or so structures remaining. Of these, I find the North End's McLauthlin Building at 120 Fulton Street the most beautiful and the most deserving of special recognition.

    Worst Empty Parcel Nominations

I'd like to nominate the empty corner lot at Huntington and Frawley (804-810 Huntington Avenue): https://www.google.com/maps/@42.3332555,-71.1080548,3a,75y,189.03h,96.06t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sht-DJ7SiFz3uj0P9wctq3g!2e0!5s20190801T000000!7i16384!8i8192

Graduate Junction (MIT West Campus) | 269-301 Vassar St | Cambridge

Are we looking at the same buildings? These aren't apocalyptically bad... merely mediocre.

Flickr Finds & Social Media Pics

It's probably the actual water table, given the site's depth below Boylston and the area's wetland past. I wouldn't be surprised if that was a semi-permanent feature once upon a time.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Happy to clean that up for you! I don't normally do this for free but I really love this photo. Hard to believe how much this area has changed in my lifetime. (I'm 27.)

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

The Langham used the same bright red as an accent. I doubt it's a purposeful homage but they will play together nicely if/when the red comes back following the hotel's renovation. Image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langham_Hotel_Boston

MassMutual | 10 Fan Pier Blvd | Fan Pier Parcel E | Seaport

Obviously a moot point in the seaport, but a little more height would've really allowed this design a chance to shine.
