    Wind in Boston Metro Microclimates

Hooooo boy, that wind tunnel at International Village is something else. It really is a nuisance, even on calmer days.

Iron Works | 323-365 Dorchester Ave | South Boston

Some context: this is (more or less) in line with the PLAN: South Boston/Dorchester Avenue plan/zoning passed a couple of years ago. We can expect many more developments of this scale in this area.

Wentworth Dorm | 630 Huntington Ave | Fenway

The lack of a cafe or similar is a bummer- that stretch of Huntington can feel walled off. But it does look like it'd be difficult to accommodate on such a tight space.

Photo of the Day, Boston Style: Part XIV (2020)

@DZH22, was that shot taken using HDR settings on your camera? I find it more likely that the three helicopters come from multiple exposures, not reflections. A lovely shot either way!

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

It's a touch too squat. From an aesthetic perspective, this tower really would have benefited from another 100 feet.

One Post Office Square Makeover and Expansion | Financial District

I'd imagine the majority of that square footage is going to the new wing at the site of the garage, no? Or is that counted as a separate building?

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

It'd be fine if they had left the white cladding out. It draws too much attention to itself and feels out of place.

Mission Hill Infill and Small Developments

That portion of Tremont is almost unrecognizable from five years ago.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Looks like this will top off a touch below the taller crane cab.

Good looks, DZ. Is that Prospect Hill?

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

It's worth noting that below-grade work for Salesforce took so long as a direct result of seismic risks. It's built on filled land that can liquefy during strong earthquakes, and the tower's piles reach down to bedrock- 300 feet- to mitigate that risk. Though earthquakes aren't unheard of here...

    Biking in Boston

Based on the city's assessing map, Leon is owned by Northeastern. Greenleaf Street and Speare Place are as well.

    Boston Skyline Photos

Nothing beats those low cloud/fog rolling in days. Delightful shots!

    Biking in Boston

I haven't heard anything about it in about a year, but a form of that connection is at least being planned: https://www.emeraldnetwork.info/featured_greenway_roxbury_to_fenway_connector

    The Seattle Scene

I won't ever live there- too fearful, however irrationally, of a major earthquake- but I adore Seattle, and I would move in an instant otherwise. Thanks for helping me revisit old memories.

Columbus Center: RIP | Back Bay

Am I missing something? I don't see an article on this or the previous page. Is there movement on this parcel? Edit: Nevermind, found it, I think: http://thebostonsun.com/2019/09/20/developer-conceives-design-plan-for-site-of-former-columbus-center-site/

Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

The shadow play by the balconies is effective at adding texture to the building. Really well done by SHoP.

Gables Seaport (née Waterside Place 1B) | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Yes, this one has been a pleasant surprise. I'd like to see how the street level wraps up but this is worlds better than its older sibling down the street.

Seaport Sq. Block N | 350 Summer Street | Seaport

I love love love the design here (and its fraternal twin across the staircase) but the loss of the cultural/arts center is really shitty. I really hope the city tightens the screws- I might be wrong here, but I feel the area is running out of space to support such an amenity.
