Good point Mark but I think the "Canal Plaza" name was kept for nostalgic purposes and it would be difficult for locals to refer to it by anything else since 1972. I think "Old Port Square" will be the new moniker and even old timers like us will eventually adjust. Maybe there will be a plaque...

I am guessing that the launch may be the rebranding of "Canal Plaza" to "Old Port Square" while allowing the 4 separate buildings to maintain their 1,2,3, and 4 Canal Plaza addresses to alleviate USPS concerns and change costs involved with tenants. Will probably include some of the entrance...

A few photos on a beautiful spring day. For those curious, the portion of the new addition where the high lift is will be clad in the same dark gray exterior material as the main part of the terminal on the left. The portion that is blue will have the same "off white" concrete and black glass...

It does remind me of Beale Street in Memphis (minus the lobster) but it adds some color to the area and I'm OK with it.

I took that photo around 5 years ago right after the renovations were completed as evidenced by Jon Jennings as the Mayor. It has not changed any and this is where TC would like to see a complete makeover but we've lost him on this matter so I will address it the next time I see Mr Bradbury.

The illuminated advertising sign should not have been placed over the "Welcome to Portland" skyline photo in my opinion and was a poor decision by Clear Channel. Good luck TC!

The new carpet throughout, expanded boarding area, SARA, new seating and restrooms will give passengers an improved first impression of PWM when arriving from the Gate 7-14 portion of the concourse.

"New" Gate 11 jetway (two guys in vests) has been connected to its own passenger boarding connector and the "old" Gate 11 jetway (still numbered) will be removed from the apron this weekend.
