Nice to hear there is someone who shares my views on riding the bus to and from Boston. And I do not fault anyone including our friend TC who chooses to do so and for some connections that involve the business community I totally understand his point. If I had never experienced the Concord...

Well if the owner of The Hardshore Distilling (from Brooklyn) claims that Portland is a suburb of Boston I guess that makes it official. Arriving at least 20 minutes prior to your Concord Coach "madhouse scene" departure, a minimum of a 90 minute bus ride and then a two hour wait until your...

TC, always enjoy your insight and outside the box ideas but you are the only person I know that is pushing Portland as a de facto suburb of Boston. If the day ever comes where the Office of Management and Budget removes Portland's designation as a Combined Statistical Area and includes it into...

Jim Brady stated in a recent interview (posted by TC) that the conversion of the Fidelity Building into a hotel should be completed by mid 2026 which is great news and will be the beginning of the revival of Monument Square.

An opening of mid 2026 for the conversion of the Fidelity Building into an upscale hotel was excellent news which means we should start seeing some construction activity very soon!

I have found nothing that shows BTV with an FIS facility. I found some articles of airports that have recently built new facilities like Wilmington, NC and Savannah, GA but it appears to be impossible to find a definitive list of all US airports that are FIS equipped.

I personally love Bermuda but I think it would take a larger airline and flights to either Jamaica, Puerto Rico or the Bahamas to make it work from the Portland market. Cancun might be another option that would create some winter interest.

Great question and I'm not sure which gate would be dedicated to the FIS Facility but I do agree it would make sense to designate an end location like Gate 1 or 14. We do know that the new station will be built in the former Delta area across from the Portland Police office which will nicely...

And as a Delta loyalist I'm pleased with where our gates are located. :) In the master plan it shows the airport filling in the "gap" just to the east of Gates 1A/B and squaring it off to align with the former restaurant space. The new Gate 1 will then become a true jetway that is not...

What's even more bizarre Mark is that the entire terminal looks like a replica of PWM from above minus around four gates!

That was the plan moving forward but I'll ask Paul if there are any changes the next time we meet up.

Found it interesting that Terminal 1 at RDU has an almost identical layout as the two gate expansion that is underway at PWM. It is nice to see that there are other travelers in the country who also have an enclosed 150 yard walk from the gate to where the aircraft is parked! :)

Greenville is another one of those smaller southern gems like Savannah, Charleston, Asheville, Roanoke and Wilmington (NC) that have vibrant downtowns and are worth the trip if you are into exploring cities that are manageable and not overwhelming like Atlanta and Charlotte.

The ceiling and lighting are two other items besides the carpet that needs to be replaced and would make a huge difference visually.

The new carpet is approved and is going to happen. I was just pointing out that it was not included on the list of improvements because it's minor (expense) in the scheme of new projects but vital for a first impression.

I did not see the new carpet throughout the entire concourse on the list of projects! :)

A great addition and will fill out this parking lot nicely while adding new residents to the center of downtown. (y)
