It’s amusing that they recently built a new headquarters at 225 Binney after they had decamped to the burbs. I guess every CEO needs to have “their” headquarters…
I think a larger impact on localized demand would come from harmonizing schools across the state. If educational outcomes were not so closely tied to where a family lived, there wouldn’t be such demand hotspots.
Back in the Kerasiotes era, I recall him saying “no decking without us getting paid” in response to a question about why they don’t proactively deck the Pike.
Interesting note: They had to carefully extract the compound from the joints between the concrete panels on the penthouse. It was probably stuffed with asbestos.
The store only carried a limited selection of REI’s products, so it was annoying to shop.
