I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

This is kind of the problem of having consultants do the job at all. Presumably what they're not allowed to say is they've been directed by someone higher up to include a series of unworkable provisions. And they can't just say "my client has directed me too..." etc.

Bartlett Yards | 2505-2565 Washington Street | Roxbury

What’s confusing me is that you look at the Birds Eye view and less than half the place is covered in buildings? It’s all open space. Historic parts of Boston don’t look like that.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

My friend works at a local business and is not someone normally plugged into development projects. She asked me, “did you hear about the new women’s soccer stadium?” I said yes, how’d you hear about that. Apparently this guy associated with the project has been coming in and ordering 6 shots of...

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

It is kind of funny to watch Milton shoot itself in the foot over and over and over because they're afraid of buildings. Buildings that in all likelihood will never get built.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

If you were to retrofit GLX stations to un-Charlie Baker them, how would you do it, while keeping the cost under control? I was just seeing people on Reddit complaining that Union square does not have any weather protection. It seems like this is as sore a subject for normal people as it is for...

Copper Mill Development | Elm Street and Grove Street | Davis Square

No way it is a "near-perfect urban environment" where someone who works there can't afford to live there. Build it. Also, I didn't realize that the developer was proposing a featureless black obelisk. No wonder he didn't want to render it!

Great Scott Redevelopment | 1 Harvard Ave | Allston

This one crosses the line from typical 5 over 1 to shitty modern art museum in terms of vibes and I quite like it. I like that they went with grey rather than red.

Police Details, Cameras, & Enforcement Methods

Wait but don't most speed cameras only kick in like 10 mph above the limit? Thus upholding this sacred social contract?

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

Triple deckers are great, but some neighborhoods are already filled with them and are ready for the next step. No argument against other cities building them though, triplexes are great.

Multi-Family Zoning Requirements for MBTA Communities

I sympathize with the idea that the government passing and enforcing a law must feel a little unusual (or I guess “psychotic”) to those people who have engineered ways to make sure the government can do neither of those things in most cases, to those people’s financial benefit.

Idea for fixing the housing shortage

I still feel like it's weird that there's zero urgency around this issue. There's a lot of technocratic designed-to-fail solutions that get passed with nothing happening afterwards. I'm starting to think only like 10% of people actually care.

Also, I mean fares should probably increase, right? There's been inflation.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I don't mind it. He should play nice with whoever is in office. Zero use in saying what he thinks

    General Boston Discussion

Tongue in cheek, but I will argue the point anyway. I consider the building and others like it to be fruit of the poisoned tree. Anything we made via urban renewal should be continuously reevaluated in case we decide it's time to 'undo' those mistakes. It could be a great monument to...

    General Boston Discussion

Crazy to landmark a building that is unethical to leave standing…

    Kendall/MIT Infill and Small Developments

Agreed, looks exactly like a ventilation building. And they used to build nice ventilation buildings!

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

My massport shuttle experience is, getting on one that doesn't go where the signs indicated it would go, driver getting mad at me for thinking that. Also randomly laying over in the rental car lot mid-journey, because let's add 20 min to your journey for no reason.
