Gateway Innovation Center | 200 McGrath Highway | Somerville

I think Brickbottom definitely lends it's self to density and height. I just don't want a lowered McGrath turning in to the same kind of road that separates East broadway and winter hill. A weedy, cracked, garbage strewn relic from the 70's. MassDOT will propose lovely plans but wont maintain...

Also, if you want to go to the doctor, CHA is moving in to the new US2 development one stop away.

as always, thanks for all the photo updates. gotta disagree on this tho. I think it's pretty bland looking. Maybe its all the white detail separating levels. I dunno, just kinda looks cheap and generic. I have high hopes for the building next door on the corner of washington tho.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Right now it's what 20 mins walk from Sullivan? There are busses going down 99 There are water taxis There are shuttles from wellington. Then you add in the foot bridge from Assembly, increase water taxi services at game times, put on more shuttles from Wellington, possibly add a silver line...

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Is this not kinda the silver line proposal. It continues from Chelsea, in to Everett and down to Sullivan, even on to East Somerville down Washington st. And I've seen vague plans for a commuter rail stop at E. Somerville. So eventually take the CR in from the north and switch to the silver line...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

yea, I'm with you. I validated once (granted I've only used it about 4 times) but there were lots of receipts in the machine and I'd no idea what I was supposed to do, sift through them? so I just left it. Also on the way back out, I got caught with the 'signal for your stop'. No notification...

The web of overhead wires drive me nuts. How can they spend millions on these lab buildings but all the utility wires are still hanging on crooked utility poles like its down town Hanoi.

I bought two e-bikes off them there. I'm not a big bike head and the fella who assembled them really seemed to hate ebikes! The thinking was that once the path opens, it'll be easy to take them there to get serviced. I've no need for a huge outdoor gear store so not bothered about the size but I...

It's not like this REI building has ruled out any of this stuff happening. It's a business that went in early and is doing well. It's location and size (the buisness) is perfect for the area. As to the use of the site in relation to the rest of the development, it's clearly been decided in...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

You'd rather an RMV at the door step of a new T station and a new community path over an REI? I think the long narrow shape mixed with the black steel beams shows a kind of nod to the industrial rail yard past here and the materials complement the restaurant/bar building across the road. For...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

what would you put there instead? I like when you come in to Lechmere on the T (from the north) the view of CX isn't obscured by anything higher. I like it's industrial feel. I like that it's retail and you'll see people milling about between it and the station. I also like that it's located at...

Silver Line at 21: Do people like it now?

Only ever ridden SL1 to the airport and back. It's a crazy example of excellent public transit switching to terrible public transit in one short journey. Couldn't believe it when I first took it. South station to silver line way, excellent. Integrated with subway at south station, electrified...

take the maps at Medford Tufts, print a load more, go to every station over a week and replace them. Do this every 6 months or when ever there's a change. It's simple.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I cant get why it takes time. I really cant. They planned this extension for 20 or 30 years or something. They've been actually constructing it for 5 years and it'll take over a year to update the maps on the actual line(s). They have the graphics. The newly opened stations have up to date maps...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Yea, tweeted the T about this (just the out of date maps not the cool public updating), got a bit of traction and a response from them. Went along the lines of "yeah yeah yeah, we're doing it..." It blows my mind that Union and Lechmere have been open almost a year and the maps on the D and E...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

The path will work it's self out in terms of speed. From McGrath to lowell, there's lots of street crossings, a station entrance, a school, a park, gradient changes, there's no where to pick up dangerous speed. From McGrath inbound, there probably is but there wont be much pedestrian traffic. I...
