Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

I saw those Magoun lights lit up this evening, and they add a lot. Something about that structure always just made me think "temporary bridge," like they had last-minute realized they had built the station too far from the street and jury-rigged the bridge with parts from another project...

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

Amazing. How will the decking over the actual pike work? Will they actually close the road?

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

What's the huge blank circular structure on top of the Buckminster?

Oh my god, they just showed an aerial over the Sox game on TV, a wide enough shot that it showed all of Back Bay to downtown, and there it was right below the Citgo sign. Bright enough to identify, big enough to read (maybe because I knew what to look for, but sheesh). They must have payed out...

Fenway Corners (Red Sox) | 1 Jersey Street | Fenway

Is that one story parking garage on Ipswich between the Conservatory building and the High School still there? It's prime real estate, can't be long for this world. Maybe it's already gone, I haven't been down in that area for several months.

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Wow. This seems like an accident waiting to happen. Is that seating for an active restaurant? Audubon maybe? Why couldn't the bike lane have gone around?

Fenway Corners (Red Sox) | 1 Jersey Street | Fenway

Kind of random, and this seemed like the best place to share it. I was helping a friend archive some old newspapers, and found this Globe article from October 21 1997. This would have been pretty bold for the time. Does anyone remember this?

74M (EDGE Assembly Sq.) | 74 Middlesex Ave | Somerville

The Dunkin and other businesses in the building on this lot appear to have closed permanently. Perhaps in preparation for demolition/construction?

    Biking in Boston

This is the way to go, and I can't believe that after all the strides made over the past 15 years, this has not yet been entertained as an option. Although it's not a perfect analogue, I think this model has proved successful on the BU bridge (and I guess the Longfellow? I don't cross that one...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but are there any plans for traffic calming at any of these at-grade crossings? Central Street in particular concerns me, as cars travel at speed downhill in both directions. And it basically becomes a lake during rainstorms at the point of the path...

Union Square Somerville Infill and Small Developments

How about Asylum? It sounds somehow like a T-stop name, and could pay homage to a soon-to-be-former denizen of the area, a la Lechmere.

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

Slight tangent, but... Whoa! I must be super-out-of-the-loop, this is Exit 133 now? How long has that been the case? I knew they were planning on changing to mileage-based signs, but I thought they'd have "OLD EXIT XX" up on the signs to smooth the transition, and I thought it was going to...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

The School St bridge JUST got (is being) replaced. Is there a reason there couldn't have been grade-separation for the path here? Maybe not enough right-of-way? The crossing that really worries me is Central St. I really wish they could have avoided street crossing. Cars go so fast here...
