    Downtown Crossing/Financial District | Discussion

Was in NYC for the first time in years over the weekend. Times Square sucks. I'll take Astoria or the East Village anyday. The new architecture along the Highline might kill some people with glee on this forum.

I know if it has been said before, but this Walgreen's is going to be a huge boost for that stretch of DTX. The Old South Building has at least two if not three vacancies. Pink finally caved after conceeding that no one wants to pay $250 for a Banana Republic shirt while paying $80 to $100/SF...

Lovejoy Wharf - Hoffman Building | 160 North Washington Street | West End

Re: Lovejoy Wharf Yup. The floor plates do not work in the part being torn down. Ceilings are too low and the column spacing is below par. That's why nothing except dead storage and paintball have been in there since the Carter administration.

I am sure glad the sweat and tithes of poor Irish Immigrants in the 1850's gets made into some fab party space!

Fenway Residence Inn (ACE Tickets) | 121 Brookline Ave | Fenway

Re: 121 Brookline Ave (ACE Tickets) As opposed to all the other dull buildings around it? Do the other buildings on Overland Street or any of the other streets there stand out? (Landmark Center and Fenway do not count). This is a neighborhood of utilitarian buildings. Yes, the buildings...

Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

Re: Ink Block | Boston Herald Property Redevelopment I am a tad biased, but you need to take a look around Station Landing in Medford. National Development came in and took a mostly failed office project which only got one building off the ground and turned it into a mixed transit and auto...

South End Infill and Small Developments

Hate to make everyone who needs their greensapce feel bad, but with all the existing food options and new supermarket construction we have pending, plus bidding wars for closets, isn't it about time that the entire city block that abuts this place get turned into a housing site? Wouldn't you...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Re: South Boston Development 1. No mention of parking. 2. I wonder if Tim will do a Greening of Southie II with this one. 3. Maybe this will wake the T up to air rights over the former trolley entrance on the northwest corner. 4. 12 Stories? Good for that corner. Let's hope the...

Hear Hear. Lest we all forget, some people have two jobs, kids, etc. and little other food options or retail options from a time perspective. Home Depot, Target, Best Buy, for those of you who own a house is great and time is limited. I have never lugged a vanity onto the Bay View bus and...

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

Re: MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. + Mass. Ave This might be an issue of cost. Weiner controls the portion of P15 which was private, the old grotto area behind St. Cecilia's. St Cecilia's took the money from that sale (2007 or 2008) and redid the entrances to the church. It...

Re: MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. + Mass. Ave Marty Walz retires and this gets initial approvals. Hmmmnnnn.

100 Arlington St | Congress Group | Back Bay

Before it was the gas company building, the gas company had a tank on site. I have never seen a picture of it, but maps do show it. It made sense to have it there becuase this was a borderland industrial area pre-1920.

Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

Re: The Point (Boylston/Brookline) As someone who actually grew up in a neighborhood of Boston which had cobbler shops, corner stores, locally owned businesses, etc. The neighborhood is a hell of a lot better with gentrification.

Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

Re: Fidelity's HQ may go high The office space inside those buildings is obselete for downtown based large companies. BB&H another major tenant in the building is leaving and consolidatiing offices at 185 Franklin Street (New England Telephone). Fideility is always seeking lower cost for...

Hate to get Old Man on you but, you mean Strawberries, right? There was some work being done on the top floor last week and a large bit of the IJ Fox facade has been covered up to protect it. The elevator and stairs in the building is at the back with the stairs being on the southerly side...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: TD Garden Towers Ron: This is great synergy with the Garden. This is the AB version of Pitino screaming "Larry Bird is not walking though that door, Kevin McHale is not walking through that door...the negativity around here sucks." Causeway Street sucks right now, yes. I'm sure there...

One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

Re: Greenway Center (Bulfinch Triangle) Yes, in the blank space south of The Victor and running up to Canal Street. Somehow Shaw's was to be the lead tenant though. No developer would touch a Shaw's / Star over the past few years without some kind of massive rent guaranty, which Shaw's...
