    Brookline Infill and Small Developments

It's not a Google thing or a realtor thing. The Town designated it as such and promotes that name. JFK Crossing | Brookline, MA - Official Website (brooklinema.gov) There is also a sign in Coolidge that's been there for over a decade: https://goo.gl/maps/QcqjuoLAXfC4kMZH9 It may not have...

    Dorchester Infill and Small Developments

Proposal to add floors to 1154-1156 Dorchester Ave, down the street from Savin Hill station. The materials look a little cheap, but I like the concept. No parking too! 2021-09-08_Small Project Review Application (SPRA)_1154-1156 Dorchester Ave.pdf | Powered by Box Public meeting tomorrow, Oct...

    Brookline Infill and Small Developments

It's interesting that the building is named "The Calvin at Coolidge Corner", when not only is this business district actually JFK Crossing, but JFK Crossing was also the project's name when it was first proposed.

    General Infrastructure

I noticed on 93 south today that there are many yellow signs that are *mostly* still covered with paper saying something about expect buses using breakdown lane between 6-9am?

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

I haven't been on the green line in maybe a year and noticed that the Type 8s have new destination screens. Yellow dot matrix style on black instead of black letters on yellow squares. I also find it weird that its only the Type 8s when they just finished completely redoing all the Type 7s and...

    Biking in Boston

While BlueBikes stations can and certainly do complement the MBTA, that is not their primary goal. There are many trips that are now possible without a car because stations are located in the neighborhoods and not only at stations. More stations will always be better and can help bring more...

    Union Square D2.1 | 10 Prospect Street | Somerville

This is the standard construction sign for Boston, though "renovation of" was removed several years ago. https://www.cityofboston.gov/images_documents/Sign%20Code%20Guide%20Color%20April%202016_tcm3-53579.pdf

Union Square Somerville Infill and Small Developments

It takes many days to install roadway markings/controls. I would hold off passing judgement on the design until it is fully installed.

80-100 Smith Street | Mission Hill

Unfortunately shortly after the previous proposal was approved, they stripped it for demo :(

I believe this is the former proposal that they reference: Basilica Court | Boston Planning & Development Agency (bostonplans.org) Approved in 2005 and never built.. BRA approves plan for Basilica Court - Boston Business Journal (bizjournals.com)

7INK (née Ollie) | 217 Albany St | South End

The billboard is new/relocated/resized. I don't see how they think it could be practical to block windows like that.

Crescent Parcel | 1125 Tremont St | Roxbury

The BPDA had an RFP out for the parcel on the corner of Tremont St and Melnea Cass Blvd. Looks like proposals were due already (see Bay State Banner article) and they'll be discussing them tonight...

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

The material they are using lasts about 4-5x longer than standard traffic paints. I remember, Cambridge 'painted' their bus lanes initially since they were pilot projects and the paint was already fading a couple months in. There is a cost difference for sure, but Ruby Lake Glass (what they're...

They had a meeting about this project earlier this week. Anyone watch it or hear the feedback they received?

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

The "orange indentations" are plywood doors for the materials hoist used during construction. They'll soon be replaced by glass.

    Maxwell | 35 Garvey Street | Everett

Even though somehow a reduction in units and height is an improvement(??), overall I think it's noteworthy that with these changes, the parking ratio is reduced (1.7 to 1.25 spaces per unit) and they actually are not developing an abutting parcel (the previously proposed freestanding garage) so...

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

^^ Cambridge doesn't seem to have this problem and has areas that are very similar.

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

Every time I see activity in this thread I wonder which building it is because the name is so odd to me. Aside from the north side of Comm Ave, what makes this building Kenmore Square North? Also, the bike lane being gone for construction is extremely annoying.

    Grounding the McGrath

The entire roadway is being repaved, full width, for the length of the corridor. With the number of lanes that McGrath has, that is a significant cost.
