Depends on the section on SSP & also Urban Planet... SSP is strong in Canada (except Toronto & Montreal) , Philly / Pittsburgh Chicago , Mountain West , Southwest and West Coast with the exception of Seattle. SSC is strong in the Midwest , Florida (Except Orlando) , Baltimore-Washington...

Its the same on WiredNY and a few other city Urbanist sites... The Bigger Urbanist sites like SSC & SSP have seen a healthy increase the last few months while regional sites have struggled...

Philly hasn't really decided on anything yet...the Market East plan is supported by South Jersey urbanists who point out spill over economic boom that would occur in Camden and nearby cities and towns with PATCO/RiverLine service. I know the Baltimore plan is supported by Urbanists down there...

But the proposed Baltimore & Philly bypasses would come with stations in the Heart of the CBD...not on the outskirts.. Wilmington is a nasty slow S-curve , its also one of the smallest NEC cities so it can be bypassed...It should only be serviced by Regional like Trenton , New Rochelle ...

We still do to a certain degree with highways....so if you were to push a little then its possible. Both routes are complex , and present the same amount of challenges...

We build things through complicated terrains all the time in this country , so I don't think it will be a problem here...

Alt 2 should go via Worcester and electrification should be extended to Upstate NY and Interior New England...

Westchester people in general are warmer to projects then long Islanders same with people in NJ and CT... I don't know why that is...although the proposed route makes very little sense...compared to LI or some basic improvements to the existing NEC...

Well it doesn't help that the News lied about the path the route would take. I haven't seen anything that would send it down Stewart Ave , everything points to using the lightly used Lower Montuak & Hempstead branch , abandoned Central Branch and adding and grade separating the Ronkonkoma...
