It makes sense & was obvious to me that TOD was going to get selected. Now, lets hope the development lives up to its hype & TOD comes up with a worthy design to solve the Quincy center T area once for all & with grace. :)

the reason why the TOD proposal is more appealing is because- at least to me- it is more conceptual than the JAG by showing "boxes" - IOW their approach has more potential for a broader program, whereas the JAG has already framed its work. Nonetheless I fully agree with your observation on the...

taking aside the greed of the developers, of course- I ask what is the rational of such project in the first place? completely out of scale & proportion, visually & unnecessarily aggressive, unpleasant & uninviting to the surroundings, I mean... Why?

Seems like a very ambitious plan :) The Quincy mayor is proving to be quite aggressive by calling for as much development as the City can muster-perhaps taking advantage of the current construction wave happening there. BTW Once upon a time I used to live over Adams street- just few blocks...

I know :mad: What is so difficult to understand by planners that transport ought to be segregated by kind & speed? IOW vehicle lines AND vehicle parking - then bicycle lines-then pedestrian!!

Why new buildings need to go higher in the first place? what is the real need behind that height "fetish". I don't want to use a Menino's phrase, but why to "Manhattanize" Boston? IMO brand new tall buildings should keep a direct proportion with the city's scale.

Re: South Station Tower the new main structure (right hand side)is the brand new elbphilharmonie in hamburg, Germany, designed by Herzog & Meuron. To my knowledge-all the background structures are part of a massive development by the city to enhance & upgrade the entire area...
