    Quincy Center Redevelopment

It makes sense & was obvious to me that TOD was going to get selected. Now, lets hope the development lives up to its hype & TOD comes up with a worthy design to solve the Quincy center T area once for all & with grace. :)

    Quincy Center Redevelopment

but why Burgin has to lose? The minimum standard ought to make it work properly- nor to make it uglier, neither to diminish/degrade it for the "greater good" of an already congested & problematic Hancock St.

    Quincy Center Redevelopment

the reason why the TOD proposal is more appealing is because- at least to me- it is more conceptual than the JAG by showing "boxes" - IOW their approach has more potential for a broader program, whereas the JAG has already framed its work. Nonetheless I fully agree with your observation on the...

Lyra (née The Huntington) | 252/258/264 Huntington Avenue | Fenway

taking aside the greed of the developers, of course- I ask what is the rational of such project in the first place? completely out of scale & proportion, visually & unnecessarily aggressive, unpleasant & uninviting to the surroundings, I mean... Why?

    Quincy Center Redevelopment

Seems like a very ambitious plan :) The Quincy mayor is proving to be quite aggressive by calling for as much development as the City can muster-perhaps taking advantage of the current construction wave happening there. BTW Once upon a time I used to live over Adams street- just few blocks...

reinvention in a way that its design approach differs completely from what is being proposed by the other surrounding structures on that site. as far as "decoration" per say (i.e. moldings, trims, etc) - I don't quite see any of it at all - I see a volume with a very particular fracture made...

88 Seaport Blvd | Seaport Square Parcel D | Seaport

I've been expressing my concern about the "dumb boring glazing boxes" being placed all over the seaport development, but this project in particular one breaks the mold from that trend, as its design-specially the way the glazing is laid out- represents a fresh, exciting & must needed way to...

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

I know  What is so difficult to understand by planners that transport ought to be segregated by kind & speed? IOW vehicle lines AND vehicle parking - then bicycle lines-then pedestrian!!

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower  pardon me, but I never said the project should be a concert hall at all- It could well be anything! neither I ever said Boston needs to place the EBL on top of South station -please take the time to read and "understand" what I stated. My entire point is...

How Tall Are Boston's Buildings and Should They Be Taller?

Why new buildings need to go higher in the first place? what is the real need behind that height "fetish". I don't want to use a Menino's phrase, but why to "Manhattanize" Boston? IMO brand new tall buildings should keep a direct proportion with the city's scale.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower the new main structure (right hand side)is the brand new elbphilharmonie in hamburg, Germany, designed by Herzog & Meuron. To my knowledge-all the background structures are part of a massive development by the city to enhance & upgrade the entire area...
