Our Lady of Good Voyage | Seaport Sq Parcel H | 55 - 57 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

^I could be wrong, but maybe it's not a bell, but a speaker for an electronic carillon. It doesn't have the structure or support to be much of bell that would be rung with a rope or electric hammer.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Please explain the non-mirrored glass windows...just for effect to break up the plane, or do they serve a purpose?

    Paul Rudolph's Government Services Center

I didn't realize this building was still used for the mentally ill. There's got to be a more pleasant location for this service for their sake.

One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

The hint of a cornice makes it a bit more digestible visually.

    Limited-service Hotel Project | 73 Essex St | Chinatown

Re: 73-79 Essex Street I agree....looks like they may take the whole block. Down the end was a terrible fire in a smaller building that opened up that little triangle of property.

Winter Garden | 100 Federal St. | Financial District

I like the plaza as it is, with the fountain, full of trees and very eye-appealing plants and seasonal flowers. I too dislike the white box...it's just another excuse for another expensive lunch mall.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Wow, looks so sharp with the windows closed...sleek!

Re: One Bromfield (28-story DTX tower) | 1 Bromfield Street | Downtown Hurry! Before they demolish and leave a hole when the next bubble bursts!

Boston's Performing Arts and Theater Scene: Past, Present, and Future

I suspected that when the city of Boston got into bed with expansionist ambitions of colleges such as Emerson there'd be trouble down the road for the fabric and infrastructure that makes the city great. The first sign is when specialized schools became junior colleges, and then became...

New FBI Headquarters | Everett Avenue | Chelsea

Our own Federal Court House on Fan Pier was designed well. And I agree that there's a big difference between it and any building housing the FBI or other such agency. Contextual location would have a lot to do with the design as well (no offense to Chelsea). I see no reason to draw attention...

Very smart-looking renderings. Look under "gallery"

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

This is in the realm of my rarely-used description for buildings: "delicious"!

Skanska Office Tower | 380 Stuart Street | Back Bay

The need to be "different" is juvenile. And besides, who knows how outlandish the final product actually will be....may be even worse....I no longer trust renderings.

New FBI Headquarters | Everett Avenue | Chelsea

Seeing as it's being built with our tax dollars, I don't care about ugly for these stand-alone FBI buildings....typical federal style boring.....but hopefully cheaper than the proposed US embassies planned around the world for Billions $$$$..

30 Dalton St. Residences | Back Bay

You guys are funny! I remember when the Hilton was assembled (not really built...all prefab concrete sections) and knew then as it rose that it was going to hideous. Then they added the mirrored tower....helped a bit. But let's face it, that entire corner of Boston needs a huge...

500 Boylston Infill | 500 Boylston St | Back Bay

All I want is for them to put the urns back on top. I never liked the barren plaza and at street level I don't think anyone will really notice the infill facade, as long as something busy and retail goes into the ground floor....and not just another naked marble lobby.

101 Seaport Blvd (PwC) | Parcel L1@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

This is the kind of glass I was hoping for on the new harbor condos next to the court house...would have been such and improvement over the dark smokey look.

City Hall Discussion - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

There is no reason why the plaza can't be filled with small buildings cuddling up to the lower stories of city hall, just as Medieval towns grew up around the cathedral. I suggest that an organic redevelopment of the hall itself will emerge as the area around it comes alive as a viable place of...

City Hall Discussion - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

And they discovered that the original, pre-earthquake city hall in SF was built of plaster of Paris and balsa wood, or close to it. Huge scandal ensued. The opposite problem for Boston...the concrete will last 500 years. And I think bold moves could sufficiently alter the lower portions to...

One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

Step away from the facade....it's really scary up close....At least it appears some kind of balconies will break it up.
