South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Developement inevitably will spread down Dot ave. If the MBTA was smart, they'd sell that parcel and move the facility elsewhere. They also need to move the bus stop away from the Broadway stop somehow. Even if it's just across the street towards gilette. That intersection is a disaster with all...

101 Seaport Blvd (PwC) | Parcel L1@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

Re: 101 Seaport Blvd (PwC)/parcel L1@Seaport Sq./Seaport Not much to add about PwC from this photo, but that headquarters hotel is going to be awful. The blue tower along D street is interesting, though.

Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

The Ink Block is in an interesting location in terms of public transit access. It's less than a 10 min walk to both Broadway and Tufts Station's, but at the same time its almost more convenient to walk into town if you work in either DTX or Back Bay.

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Re: Waterside Place | 505 Congress Street | Seaport They need to build more amenities for sure.. "Normal" housing is probably never going to happen here. Opening up in the winter can't be good for business, either.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Didn't want to chime in on a topic that has been discussed 100 times on this board, but did want to ask one question - Is "innovation" limited to startups between 2-10 employees? My company is a venture backed startup with 100+ employees...

    The New Retail Thread

Very interesting restaurant concept proposed for West Third @ A street in Southie. Should be a hit with the new State Street crowd - New restaurant pitched for West 3rd Street Globe article here. - At the end of the article there is also mention of a large scale multi-use development across...

    MCCA Hotels: Aloft & Element | 371-401 D Street | South Boston

Can't argue with that, and for the most part there isn't much down there for an out-of-towner today. Great opportunity though for moderate priced, and possibly (although growing extinct in Boston) independent restaurants to open in what has to be a cheaper rental district. People find retaurants...

    MCCA Hotels: Aloft & Element | 371-401 D Street | South Boston

My mistake, comparison was made assuming that you knew the hotels were right next to the BCEC.

    MCCA Hotels: Aloft & Element | 371-401 D Street | South Boston

I sure hope so, it's one of the more popular druggie gathering spots on Broadway. Definitely an area undergoing serious demographic changes and a lot to be desired on the retail/commercial front.

    MCCA Hotels: Aloft & Element | 371-401 D Street | South Boston

There is also some opportunity for West Broadway to get into the game with about a 10 min walk from the hotels. This could allow for much needed independent restaurants with moderate pricing to open up and succeed. There is a mix-use development in the works at D and West Broadway, with plans...

    MCCA Hotels: Aloft & Element | 371-401 D Street | South Boston

Very short walk to the heart of the Seaport Distric and silver line. My understanding is that retail/restaurants will open on the ground level of both hotels as well as at the "Flats on D" development next door. MJ O'Connors, City Bar, Birtch Bar, a soon-to-be steakhouse are right at the Weston...

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Re: Waterside Place | 505 Congress Street | Seaport I really like the original, such a shame. I'd like to say it looks better in person, but it doesn't. Really an embarrassment to the developer. But hey, his pockets are lined so what does he care. Honestly, the BRA is at fault on this one...
