    Channel Center | Fort Point

Truck route or not, something has to be done about the log-jam that A Street creates every day around 5pm. With state street adding 5K employees, the road will literally shut down. Widening might actually help this road.

    Channel Center | Fort Point

Gotcha, that is good to hear. I still think this strip is way to insular. I remember hearing about how retail had to face in, due to Gillette demands, but there has to be some sort of smart signage directing folks into channel center from A. Probably not quite as necessary until State Street...

    Channel Center | Fort Point

How is the salon and Bobs Your Uncle in business? Nothing against them, but I walk down Channel Center at least three times a day and have never noticed anyone in either business. Mrs. B's on the other hand is in dire need of competition.. Dead zone this is not, but it definitely has a ways to...

    Channel Center | Fort Point

I second that. The abandoned warehouses on west 3rd (backside faces west 2) has got to go. I'm sure its just a matter of time. I'm not worried about the lack of retail yet as there is no demand for it. Lots of empty spaces in channel center. Short-sighted, maybe, but I have hopes that lobby...

Hotter than Tabasco sauce: the Boston RE market

Boston's proximity to NYC will always be desirable to the Biz sector. Many companies hold offices in both cities and execs/sales people often travel back and forth on a weekly basis. Can't say the same is true for Detroit. Point is there are many factors that make Boston a desirable city.

Re: South Boston Development This might be the worst of new condo developments in Southie - http://boston.curbed.com/archives/2013/07/southie-residents-want-city-to-up-its-game-on-paint-jobs.php I live near here and am offended by this design/color as well. My only thinking is that the...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Re: South Boston Development Your probably right about Broadway retail vs. Charlestown's, but that's not saying much. Broadway is miles behind in terms of keeping up with the development boom. It is still very shitty in most areas. Nail salons, crappy pizza and realty companies make up 90% of...

    Waterside Place 1A | 505 Congress Street | Seaport

Re: Waterside Place Have you walked down congress street in Fort Point? Seaport Blvd and Congress are extremely walkable and anything but dead... And this is with almost no residential. In a year or two I'm pretty sure your opinion will change.

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

The proposal for the park that is going to be built within the Channel Center project has a half-court as well (http://www.bostonredevelopmentauthority.org/DevelopmentProjects/PipeDocs/One%20Channel%20Center/One%20Channel%20Center_Comments.pdf. There's plenty of room for a full court. I'm...

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Re: South Boston Development Agreed. And remember, the green and brick building (where Dunk's was) will be replaced with 22-26 W. Broadway, which looks promising. Assuming the Cornerstone will be part of the hotel development, this corner could shape up to be something.

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Re: South Boston Development I remember reading that Pappas also owned the land that the Cornerstone is on, wonder if it is involved in this proposal. Not sure how far 12 stores will get in Southie without proper parking.

    Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

Start it at the North End Greenway and travel down Seaport Blvd. Would be absolutely huge in the warm weather and would transport tourists.. which I feel is one of the major drawbacks of the Silver Line. It's fine for commuters, but not tourist-friendly at all.

Fort Point Infill and Small Developments

Great to hear.. Excited that the entrance of Battali's will be on A street. For Bastille, do you mean 49 Melcher? Affordable options (lunch/bars) are much needed. It's great to see all of these unique dining options, but we need some mid-priced and laid back options as well. Hopefully a café...

Re: South Boston Development Foodies is now open on W Broad and Bee's Knees coming soon to Fort Point. Whole Foods will open in the next year or so(?) across the bridge in the Ink Block. Besides that, I don't see another grocer coming.. although a Trader Joes on Broadway would be awesome.
