Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport The hotels that are proposed for D Street are the "mid-range" hotels that the BCEC is looking for. They are looking to build a larger Headquarters hotel in another close-by location. But this is exactly my point - The city, especially the Seaport...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport What is being squandered exactly? With the revised plans, will D Street never meet these expectations? I understand the frustrations especially due to the master planning efforts, but I still think that this will be a very successful street, above...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport The parking garage is intended to replace the South Lot of the BCEC, which will be built upon during the expansion. Both the hotels and garage are solely a step towards the BCEC master plan. I personally am fine with this because D Street is a dump...

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Sorry, I was referring to the above ground parking lot not the hotels.

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport With retail. Have you been down D Street lately? Completely fine by me.. When/if the demand hits, they will tear it down and build something else.

Most interested in the Time Square-ish one and the last one (gateway to Seaport Square). Edit: IMG SRC says from 2008. Bummer.

    Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

Procter signs. Accoring to the article, the building will feature "generous amounts of glass." That's probably a good thing. http://bostonglobe.com/business/2012/12/19/goodwin-procter-move-fan-pier/yEhyRaJ6sNrYx14MLXyuKL/story.html

    Where can I move?

What about Southie? Closest neighborhood to the Financial District and new restaurants/bars popping up all the time.. you can probably find something in your price range still around Andrew. I'd also suggest looking in the Savin Hill area of Dorchester. North Quincy is OK, but if you could...

    Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

Looks much nicer in person than photographed. The sun reflects nicely off the glass. Also looks great walking down A towards the seaport. Not a bad addition at all.

Re: South Boston Development Cornerstone lot is owned by Pappas as is the vacant lot next to it.

    Channel Center | Fort Point

This is my walk to work everyday, and the picture really doesn't do justice. All the way down A street to Congress is construction sites.

South Boston Infill and Small Developments

Re: South Boston Development There was a fire in the building about 6 months back, not sure of the damage it caused but Dunks has been closed since, and the windows are boarded up on both buildings (street-side on Dunks building, rear on the other), so I think that has a lot to do with it...

Re: South Boston Development Totally agree - As previously mentioned, I think Pappas owns that parcel. I don't think you'd see much shadow concerns from this location given that it is bordered by Gillette and the on ramp.

Re: South Boston Development The neighborhood is banking the increase of foot-traffic from the new Foodies, 11 West Broadway (residents/Stephanie's/Starbucks) to help fill the empty retail spots in the Macallen and CSP. Once that happens, hopefully the conversions and interesting architecture...
