Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Re: Fenway Center (One Kenmore, Mass Turnpike PARCEL 7) This part of the Fenway has been a series of rundown suburban parking lots for 80 years, the Soxcentric "economy of the neighborhood" notwithstanding - or, rather, thanks to it. It's land between Brookline and the Back Bay. There's way...

    Boston population rises to 645K

Bah, show me the Pearl Harbor of King Philip's War. Puritan suburbia being raised to the ground. Medfield wiped off the map. Now that sounds awesome.

Canopy by Hilton (née Haymarket Hotel) | Blackstone St | Parcel 9 | Greenway

Re: Parcel 9 - The Greenway Is it me or were the lowrise portions of each scaled down quite a bit? Whose idea was it to line the Greenway with a two-story structure? Boston population rises to 645K

Yeah, the revolutionary period is definitely an underrepresented time in Boston's history that needs further exploration and investigation. #eyeroll I would love to see a movie set in 17th century Boston. Or the 19th century.

Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

Re: Fidelity's HQ may go high I have to agree with others who note there are plenty of places where large floor-plated towers can go in and around downtown Boston that don't involve destroying intimate streetscapes or historic buildings. If that happens here, it'll be a dispiriting planning fail.

Of course the activists did. Shame on Cambridge's city government for not knowing how a city should look and work.

The Phoenix was always free so it's questionable how much the "market" really matters in this case. The bigger problem was fewer eyeballs looking at a print edition that the paper could charge a premium in ads for. And I don't remember if the Phoenix had classifieds (I think it did) but...
