    Finally! Am shocked the elderly owner is actually spending money on the exterior restoration but it is long overdue and the Trelawny Building was actually the tallest in Maine for a short period.

    Appears that the Westin is trying to improve the appearance of the boiler shaft which I am all for, but why not invest in some heavy duty glass windows even if they serve no actual purpose other than ascetics? Cinematic Cities video

    But it does have the 9 story former Key Bank Plaza which towers over the rest of downtown and is taller than any commercial building in Lewiston or Bangor. In my opinion, the crown of the building is the best designed rooftop of any high rise in Maine.

    Watched the Planning Board meeting and everything looks the same with just a few minor tweaks. Am pleased that 61 Preble is still planned for 10 floors and it was the first time I've heard the "microwave" apartment term which must mean they will not be equipped with traditional stoves/ovens.

    Good point Mark but I think the "Canal Plaza" name was kept for nostalgic purposes and it would be difficult for locals to refer to it by anything else since 1972. I think "Old Port Square" will be the new moniker and even old timers like us will eventually adjust. Maybe there will be a plaque...
