    Reasonable Transit Pitches

I've seen this written down probably in the same places that you have, but I have seen no indication on the ground that this is true. (The same list of infrastructure improvements also includes signalization at Mountfort and Beacon Streets, to have been completed last month...nope, not even...

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

^The desired connectivity will be provided in no small measure by 1) the stupidly overdue pedestrian connection between Miner and Maitland Streets over a MassDOT ROW, which is supposed to be started this fall, last I saw, and 2) Fenway Center's Phase 2, through which the Lansdowne platforms will...

Love it when something comes down and polarizes the group like this. I'm into it personally: The Brookline Ave front feels like a present-day take on our old buddy down the street Holiday Inn Brookline (image from before it lost its affiliation and its red paint job). That building maybe isn't...

Taco Bell coming to 872 Comm. Ave. in front of BU West, most recently a 7-11 and half of a Mattress Discounters before that. Guess we can expect to see more of them after their (presumptive) success with the downtown location. This one will be two doors down from Chipotle.

    MBTA Construction Projects

Some work is getting done on the two new stations. Concrete barriers were placed last year in between the road and the future platform areas, and as of this week those barriers are now being fitted with black fencing (in the style of the fences installed at Central/East/Blandford). Platform work...

    MBTA Construction Projects

I didn't miss the image and I didn't miss what you said here: The only things in the image that are closed for a month are 1) the C, 2) the E (which I didn't mention but which is certainly subject to the same analysis as the C for an August closure) and 3) Lechmere/NS, which is much longer but...

    MBTA Construction Projects

This is a three mile light rail line in a highly transit-oriented town, not a Metro trunk passing through all manner of communities and Beltway interchanges. The T's data show that July is already a low ridership month across the system (along with August and December/January when schools are...

Type 9 running on the B this morning too, and the using the Park loop to turn around when it finished the run.

Not sure which thread to use for this, but a Type 9 pair was spotted in revenue service on the C earlier today, a first on that line as far as I know.

In constant and vigorous agreement with this, but the faregates are indeed a horrid idea that should be blasted into the sun. Story says that project isn't supposed to be started until the fall, so maybe that's enough time for them to come to their senses.

    Green Line Type 10 Procurement

Not the first time (at least the third) I've come here to vent about the Globe copy desk's insistence on editorializing for the sake of apparently clicks, it being above my pay grade to understand why a subscription-only website is trolling for clicks. Glad I'm not the only one seeing it.

    The New Retail Thread

It happened in 2017, per the below. Panera only owned Tatte for about a year, and only then a slim majority stake. The founder is probably happy with where she is now, but fair to say that the perception of having gone corporate was a blow to the chain's reputation, since most people still seem...

Not for a while now, they sold their stake, though I think to their former founder/executive who lives locally.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

I'm often awestruck by the very specific ways in which the MBTA plainly does not give a shit what its customers think of it. Tonight for me it's the Winter Street Concourse. In the last year or so they finally blew out the false walls and doubled its width, then generally cleaned it up so that...

And the FY2020 tax bill was $803,648. The town will no doubt be keen to keep the property on the commercial tax rolls. Several of the BU-owned parcels on this side of Comm. Ave. are classified as partially exempt, partially commercial.

AB exclusive: I think I'm the first to report (having just randomly stumbled across it in Norfolk registry records) BU's $50m purchase of 730-766 Commonwealth Ave. from an entity controlled by Druker. The sale was recorded last Thursday; link to deed here. Across the street from the central...

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

MBTA just put out a fresh update saying that the Beacon Street entrance to the Lansdowne station will reopen in mid-March. It closed at the start of December 2018 and was supposed to be closed for approximately one year.
