    Crazy Transit Pitches

Fixed it in bold. Probably not even then though, since one side of the tracks is all 1/2 family homes with big yards and the other side is a narrow commercial strip buffered with conservation land. All good in any event because the Belmont/Waverley spacing would be fine.

    Fenway Infill and Small Developments

It has one good side for one good reason as far as I'm concerned. The side facing Miner isn't just brick panels; they actually had masons on site! It makes a real difference in person. It's not clear to me whether the material on the front is how it's going to look in the end, so I guess that's...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

Re: Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail You know what, I'm not just the president of the Ignore List Fan Club, I'm also a client. If that's what's been going on with this guy, and maybe I'll find that out for myself when the next reply to me is a nonsequitur on how the Braga bridge is way...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

Re: Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail Of course it isn't apples to apples, and no I didn't include the surrounding suburbs, but the two regions don't need the same service so apples/apples isn't appropriate here. I said that the Cape region probably has more people than all of Bristol...

Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail (South Coast Rail)

Re: Fall River/New Bedford Commuter Rail Correct. F-Line is a rightful aB legend but sometimes he has trouble locating his thermostat. If I had a nickel for every time I got sideways with F-Line over something like this, I'm pretty sure I'd have five cents. HOWEVER, Rover, you can't ask an...

New signs being installed this morning. Contra the old signage here: Really solid improvements here, especially letting people from out of town know that they've just arrived on the C line (and to have another chance to figure out whether that's a mistake). Well done!

8-10 Waldo Street | Coolidge Corner | Brookline

A zoning overlay district for the mixed-use approach to this project (in favor of the 40B option) was approved by Brookline town meeting last night. This doesn't mean the project is permitted, but that CHR will be working towards the permitting and construction of the hotel-and-residential...

    Commonwealth Avenue Improvement Project

The concrete barriers for the new consolidated stops on the B Line are nearly done. The new St. Paul/ BU West barriers look finished and the Babcock/Pleasant barriers are almost there. No work on the platforms yet but this looks like the first step, separating the roadway from the eventual...

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

John Harrington, Frank McCourt and Stephen Karp in a circa-2001 AIM chatroom called "Crazy Fenway Park Pitches" are all very interested in this discussion. Dan Shaughnessy likes the pun in that title and thinks he can get an 800 word column out of the premise. This is garbage. Can nothing be...

You're not wrong that there are many many RF corner seats that are far far worse than the upper bleachers in terms of field view, but at least you can leave those seats in between innings and access concessions/restrooms relatively quickly without waiting for 30 rows of fans to clear the only...

MGM Music Hall (née Fenway Theater) | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

I went long on my thoughts on this project as it impacts Fenway Park here, before we got to see what they planned to do on the baseball-facing side. Continuing that train of thought here for now because it's all one PNF, though I realize this might fit better in its own Fenway Park thread...

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Will they? Everything that passes through this station stops except for one daily Lake Shore Limited in each direction, plus all of the track is basically brand new from when they built the proper station there. I feel like the heavy trucks on the Pike blasting through at 60+ would actually be...

8-10 Waldo Street | Coolidge Corner | Brookline

^By way of a little further background/refresher, the original proposal was a 40B for a 21-story all-glass tower and more than 300 units (and no hotel component). If I understand everything correctly, the town pulled the emergency brake on that one, begged the state for a one-year moratorium on...

This is still a live proposal, and quite a few changes have been made since this thread was last live. Equilibria's top link above includes some summary data on the proposal as of December '18: one 12-story, 146-unit apartment building on the corner of Pleasant and John, and one 10-story...

What is really nice is that they did write up all of the routes, including the 66 with its EIGHT stops per mile. This is a solid knowledge base upon which to build.

    Happy 100th Birthday, Paul Rudolph!

Out in fantasy land and got to take in this exhibit today. This guy was STELLAR with a small canvas. ETA: This exhibition is being staged in an block-size empty foundation hole in between two downtown parking garages. You head into the sublevel of one of the parking garages and walk through a...

    BU Development Thread

The PRC is/was at 832 Comm, next to the new theater (if I'm reading the campus map right). 910 is this guy in between CVS and Sunset Cantina in front of the St. Paul stop. Looks like BU only bought it about five years ago.

    BU Development Thread

Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, but the BU bookstore is moving to 910 Commonwealth Ave. Source: their contractors are starting to pull permits that are showing up on Brookline's website. This is a good activation for that block.
