Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

^I don't believe that would happen . I think the confusion arises with all of this from the beginning: I don't remember if there was an RFI to discuss what ideas/features the property might feature before they put out the RFP, but an observation deck requirement wasn't set in stone. I remember...

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Re: Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End ^Look at all that Brutal-ist concrete. I wonder if it get's recycled somehow as it comes down? Maybe some ready-made Jersey barriers? :-P

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

^This thing's gonna start to fly. I wonder if this will top out before Bulfinch Residential tower? Either way, it's fun to watch. :)

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

^Good point. I just saw Odu's earlier post about this being somewhere around 94% over terra-ferma, so it would seem that costs would not be as high as with a different scenario. (Such as the currently shelved Copley Place Tower)

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

^All the more impressive considering the higher costs involved with an air-rights development. Instead of skimping on details to save on costs, he gives us a well-designed project that will be pleasing to the eye, among it's other attributes.

    Worcester Infill and Developments

I was appointed to the Grand Jury in Worcester for 3 months just before Christmas which brought me in every day. I was very surprised how much better downtown Worcester is looking these days. Parking was actually at capacity in almost every lot/garage at certain times. (which was about twice a...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

^That must be the exclusive Holiday Season package deal. 57 nights for only $124,000. (excludes taxes/gratuities) :-)

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

^Insane is quite accurate: I was 2 years old in 1963, and crawling around South Station in a diaper, and now I'm approaching 60, and ready for a hip replacement. Can't wait to attend the ground-breaking ceremony in my power-chair. (I know what you're thinking...why was I allowed to crawl...

Hope Point Tower (Fane) | 250 Dyer Street | Providence

^Not to nitpick, but the last sentence above is wrong. Worcester is New England's second largest city.

The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End ^I agree. I am just pointing out that I think Odurandina's comments about 65 Martha Rd. are a critique of the Architectural design of 65 Martha rd. (If a bit overzealous at times), not a desire to drive out the less...

The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End ^ Despite the merits (or lack thereof, if one deems that to be the case) of Odurandina's posts about Martha Rd., there is one important thing you seem to be forgetting, that is Archboston is primarily about...

The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End Quick, Beeline, please post a pic to bring me back to "on-thread reality". (I always count on this happening-Beeline is my defacto AB psychotherapist) :-)

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District I haven't seen any renders which look realistic yet. MT had better renders before that one was built than what we've seen here so far. Regardless, it's been tweaked to the hilt, and this is what we're getting. It' s better than a couple proposals...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

^BosDevelop is spot-on. MGM hypothetically could sell Springfield and take this over-if it came to that. There aren't that many alternatives. Hopefully the gaming commission will find that the benefits of allowing Wynn to keep pumping boatloads of money into our economy outweigh forcing his...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

^ Brilliant idea..... it also looks like the perfect backdrop for a movie. Just hide the "Encore" on top, and you have: Dr. Evil's headquarters, with the adjacent factory producing all manner of earth-destroying weaponry. :-) In all seriousness, I think it looks better than the Las Vegas...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

I would never have thought that a hotel tower could make a set of smokestacks cool looking. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the new Encore has actually accomplished that. (at least from the angle in those shots posted above by DZH22)

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

^That just shows how transformative this project is for the area. I've got to say that I'm more excited about this project than just about any other right now. I also think "Hub-on-Causeway" nickname is spot-on, because this will become quite the hub for so many activities. Catch a movie. Attend...

Rumor has it that spinach will be a featured buffet item at Encore Boston Harbor. (Popeye demands it)

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

You got it jass, let's eat!......It should be be good. I haven't eaten Wynn's buffet in Vegas, but did try an Italian restaurant located adjacent to the La Reve water show there last year. Food was incredible. (and the show was good also)
