Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 ^If you read their BRA/PDF, Transnational leaves a lot open for further input and changes to their proposal. Which could be good or bad, because their proposal is the least set-in-stone plan. That's the impression I...

Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

^All the renders on their website show the same building. It looks a bit more "squared off" on the picture with the skyline in the background, but it's the same building as the other pictures....those slight angular projection features are hard to see. (I'm sure someone on here knows the...

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 ^^Correct....if we aren't getting a spire (sorry, it's a fetish) then we can at least get a futuristic, out-of-this-world looking skyscraper that looks like it belongs on Mars. The exoskeleton is out of this world.

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 ^^Right on!....Accordia has lost my vote, Lendlease is now number one, then HYM , then TransNational. Though TransNational could move to second place if the renders showing their proposal from different skyline...

Encore Boston Harbor Casino | 1 Broadway | Everett

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett ^^The whole "casino thing" in Mass. will be a short lived boon to the state, but like most casinos around the country, will probably fade into the background as time goes on without living up to their expected financial benefits. Everyone knows that already...

    Miles on the MBTA

^Thank you for the posting. The guy included just about EVERY bit of information one could post after a visit to each station, which can come in useful planning intrastate trips.

    An Early Affordable House

^Yes, very good news. (Sorry I couldn't post the actual link-I don't know how to do that) I doubt they offer tours, but I'd love to see the place if they did! ...I checked streetview on Google earth, but the house is not even visible from the street. That Artfuse piece "gets us inside", so that...

I agree with some of found5dollars points, but as a newbie on here, I think the posts have been quite informative, with some spirited banter once in a while, I do not see bickering. I learn something new almost every time I'm on here. BTW, anyone know if the Napoleon complex has shut down yet...

^First, fetishism of spires is not a bad thing. Maybe it's because we don't have many here, and want a few more. Second, since when is discussing aesthetics wrong? Isn't that the most important thing, seeing as how we'll all have to look at the final product forever? Believe me, I would never...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

^Your right, no nice plaza, plus that dump next door brings down the price of my latte's. (the Hilton) :-P

^^That looks MUCH better. Those cantilevers are too high up in their proposal. I agree that this should be presented as an alternative. In addition to expanding usable space in the building, it makes the tower look dramatically better. The cantilevers higher up look too gimmicky.

Evolution of the Prudential Center: 1954-1989

Thank you for the memories.... My grandmother had a friend (Yetta) who lived in the apartment towers back in the late 60's. It was quite the complex, my grandmother loved to go visit her because she loved her place! :)

    Future Skyline

^^We could even add a #10 to the list if Chiofaro surprises everyone, and proposes a 600' Aquarium Garage tower within the strict guidelines. Possible?...yes. Probable?....nah.

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

^^Holy Toledo... Afternoon "High Tea" for 70 Euros..That's about $80/US. Where's Four Season's leasing agent? I'll take that space. I'll present an afternoon Boston latte special for only $70! (we like coffee here) (That's Paris? I thought the tea sipping Downton Abbey types were in London?)

What would you do to get the T out of its financial mess?

^Correct, let them hillbillies out yonder get rush hour service primarily, and provide more service to the busy areas close to Boston. Running almost empty trains from 50 miles out makes no sense.....and make sure the (Burger?) King gets service whenever he demands it.
