    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Interesting, I have never noticed it since I basically only view the tower from the North. I don't think it looks that bad, though I agree it would look better covered or partially covered. Overall though, the tower contributes immensely to the skyline. It's hard for me to imagine now what the...

Mosaic Boston Condos | 80-82 Fenwood Road | Longwood

Not bad, I think it would look better with a cornice all around the building.

Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Re: 111 Federal St. | Formerly Trans National Place (Winthrop Square) Part 2 Agreed that the Brutalist buildings you mention are more compelling than Rudolph's at 133 Fed. The "Y"-shaped pillars are my favorite part of the building because they remind me of the tridents at the base of...

    Limited-service Hotel Project | 73 Essex St | Chinatown

+1 People said the same thing about the West End once upon a time, now it doesn't exist. With time we can repair the buildings, fix the smells, etc. but is this building is destroyed, it will never come back. I feel what some of you are saying, though I don't entirely agree, I think Chinatown...

    Chinatown Infill and Small Developments

The new facade is a huge downgrade: https://www.google.com/maps/place/213+Harrison+boston+ma/@42.348049,-71.0625353,3a,75y,289.17h,94.5t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sE3N0eYG198RaAKM_HPm7dw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x23c8651a1e391bbc!6m1!1e1 The details are subtle, but for a simple row house like...

    171 Tremont Street | Downtown

This is disappointing news. It's not as if there wasn't precedent for building "tall" on this site. Not to mention that it looked like a solid, trim design. That said I'm happy with 20 stories over what's there now.

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

I actually really like the back. It won't be very visible (I think) once Seaport Square is built out.

Canvas - Mixed Use Tower (old Felt location) | 533 Washington St | Downtown Crossing

Agreed. I assumed it would cast shadows until I looked on Google Earth and noticed that it isn't even as tall (305 ft) as Tremont on the Common (322 ft). Wohoo! That makes it much easier to sell to the public.

    BCEC expansion | Seaport

Great point! Apparently a bunch of people on my Facebook feed agree.

BRA's Kairos Shen's under pressure to resign

Glad that he is gone. We need someone with more imagination and more of a zeal for getting things built.

Vertex Headquarters @ Fan Pier | 11 Fan Pier Blvd, 50 Northern Ave | Seaport

I second that Babbo is good, I went there a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't sure how much retail Vertex was going to lease, so I'm happy about all of the retail going in.

The Beverly (née Merano) (Parcels 1B & 1C) | Bulfinch Triangle | West End

Re: The Merano I'll be happy to see another piece of the Bullfinch Triangle pieced together! This project looks pretty good. Architecturally, it's uninspiring, but not offensive. When completed, my guess is that in terms of looks it's going to come out as Avenir > Merano > Victor. I've grown to...

Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downtown

Re: Dorm Tower @ Emerson College | 1-3 Boylston Place | Downtown It's not bad, but I love it the way it is: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.352354,-71.064499,3a,75y,231.99h,114.98t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sHOsD6VsbayWGa9nKdxpKiA!2e0 If the facade that they're going to destroy to fill in w/ the...

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

I like this idea. I think it could function even as a single story retail-only building, though having fake floors above could be a nice touch.

    Rose Kennedy Greenway

I would rather get buildings built over the parcels than this, but if the economics never work out I think this is better than the current situation.

Lovejoy Wharf - Hoffman Building | 160 North Washington Street | West End

I'm really liking this building, the addition is handsome and adds to it. Really cool vibe, I'd love to work in it. Imagine in 7 years what this area is going to look like w/ the Merano, TD Garden and Nashua Street Towers, the adjacent hotel...I can't wait.

Cambridge Discovery Park | Alewife | Cambridge

Absolutely. I'm curious whether it's always been planned to be semi-urban, or if things have just happened that way. Had the Red Line been extended to Lexington that would have alleviated some of the traffic around Alewife, possibly giving planners more flexibility in dealing with roadways and...

The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Re: 110 Broad St. (The Times/Littlest Bar) Agreed. It would be nice if the developer at least saved the facade of the other building. One thing I really like about facedectomies is that they usually encourage good street-level as the facades of the old buildings typically included retail. I...

    Watson-Health Expansion | Kendall Square

It's so interesting how things have changed, and it will be interesting to see where things are in 10 or 20 years. I agree that it may not be a permanent trend, though I would like it to be. The younger crowd getting older and wanting to move into the suburbs could reverse the trend. More than...

    Watson-Health Expansion | Kendall Square

Great news! I've worked for IBM out in the suburbs, and would love to see more of their offices move into the Boston/Cambridge area.
