This is disappointing news. It's not as if there wasn't precedent for building "tall" on this site. Not to mention that it looked like a solid, trim design. That said I'm happy with 20 stories over what's there now.

Agreed. I assumed it would cast shadows until I looked on Google Earth and noticed that it isn't even as tall (305 ft) as Tremont on the Common (322 ft). Wohoo! That makes it much easier to sell to the public.

I like this idea. I think it could function even as a single story retail-only building, though having fake floors above could be a nice touch.

I would rather get buildings built over the parcels than this, but if the economics never work out I think this is better than the current situation.
