Boston Properties Office Tower | 888 Boylston Street | Back Bay

I would love to see the Lord & Taylor space go vertical, though I really like the design of the Lord & Taylor currently. I can't put a pin on why, I've just always really liked it. I hope this project goes vertical soon.

One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

Re: One Canal (formerly Greenway Center, Bullfinch Triangle) I love the last shot. I'm going to love walking down Canal street and seeing One Canal rising above the existing 3-story building. I am very happy that the existing building did not get demolished. Can't wait for the facade to start...

One Greenway (Parcel 24) | 0 Kneeland Street | Chinatown

Yes, absolutely. Let's hope projects like these keep on coming.

AvalonBay Tower (Jacob Wirth's) | 45 Stuart Street | Downtown

Agreed. This one impresses me more than I thought it would. My only thing against it is the exposed parking garage on the other side. Other than that, great development.

    45 Worthington Street | 6 (née 35) stories, 141 (née 385) units | Mission Hill

OK, so it seems like we are all agreeing that height alone or the potential for a project to contribute to the skyline alone should not qualify or disqualify a project from our consideration. Now that this is out of the way, I am in favor of this project going forward. Like always, I would be...

Canopy by Hilton (née Haymarket Hotel) | Blackstone St | Parcel 9 | Greenway

Re: Parcel 9 - The Greenway Judging by the renders, I am OK with the development as-is. The taller section is on the left side of the parcel (looking from the Greenway), so it will hide the hotel from the Greenway, but the rest of the Blackstone Block will be visible over the 2-story section of...

AvalonBay Tower (Jacob Wirth's) | 45 Stuart Street | Downtown

Agreed! The juxtaposition is outstanding. It reminds me of what I like best about New York City.

Re: 171 Tremont Street Cool stuff, looking forward to seeing the renderings!

Ferdinand Building Renovation + Addition | Dudley Sq | Roxbury

Re: Dudley Sq's Ferdinand Building to be Restored/ Renovated Wow! Surpassed my expectations. I love how the entire building echos and takes motifs from the old facades, but doesn't try to imitate them like PoMo tried to do with a dash of irony. I can't wait to see this one for myself.

AvalonBay Tower (Jacob Wirth's) | 45 Stuart Street | Downtown

Disappointing to learn. I know LaGrange street doesn't have much going for it, but I still think these kinds of exposed parking garages are disgusting. How much would it really cost the developer to hide the garage? And why wouldn't the BRA or whomever require them to hide the garage? Great...

Public Alley 444 | 939 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Re: 939 Boylston (Or really Public Alley 444) In terms of height or facade? I like the renderings, but I could understand if they want the developer to do do a more classically inspired facade. That said, the Back Bay does such an outstanding job at being architecturally harmonious that a...

Novartis Campus | 181-211 Mass Ave, 22 Windsor Street | Kendall Square | Cambridge

It's a little all over the place, but I like it.

30 Dalton St. Residences | Back Bay

This building's neighbors, the Sheraton and Hilton, are some of the ugliest skyscrapers in the city. In terms of massing and facade, this building doesn't need to do very much to make me happy.

Public Alley 444 | 939 Boylston Street | Back Bay

Re: 939 Boylston (Or really Public Alley 444) Cool infill project! Hope this one clears through the regulatory hurdles quickly.

AvalonBay Tower (Jacob Wirth's) | 45 Stuart Street | Downtown

Just to confirm, we know for sure that a facade will cover the garage? I was starting to get really worried that the garage portion was going to be left as is. Granted, it's on the backside of the building, but I still think developers ought to be required to at LEAST hide above ground parking...

Quincy Market Update/Renovation | Faneuil Hall Marketplace | Downtown

Re: Update Planned for Faneuil Hall Good to know. Fixing this building would do the most to improve Quincy Market for me. Walking on the Greenway, you almost can't tell that Quincy Market is there. I would love it if Quincy Market and the Armenian Heritage Park/Harbor Islands Greenway parcels...

Proto | 88 Ames St | Kendall Square | Cambridge

Re: Ames Street Residence/88 Ames Str./Kendall Sq./Cambridge Great project. The Broad Institute + this are really re-making this stretch of Ames Street. Turns an eyesore into an active streetwall + residential. I hope this is as tall as permitting allows.

Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport Cool stuff! Recent comments are making me more optimistic about the Seaport. I still can't believe that the Silver Line is a bus in a tunnel, I did not know that existed until it did here in Boston. Why didn't they make it heavy rail like the rest...

    100 Pier 4 | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport

Re: Pier 4 Residential Tower | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport I really dislike this building. I really don't like the color, or its size/shape. The random bands of horizontal glass are cool, but they aren't enough to make me like it. I also don't get the random bit of the building that is...

101 Seaport Blvd (PwC) | Parcel L1@Seaport Sq. | Seaport

This is going to be handsome relative to many of the other Seaport buildings. I am excited to see it finished. I still wouldn't want to actually work in the Seaport, I agree with Campbell's recent article that it's failing as a neighborhood.
