Per an earlier convo, it appears the stairs seen in the render are not present in real life. Anyone know if there will actually be stairs in this atrium?

Understood. I was under the impression that a spire would not count against the FAA height. Sort of how we all think a building is a certain height based on what the BRA says and then it turns out 50' taller due to the additional MP. I thought a spire was calculated similarly.

That's as good an explanation as any. And in Boston, probably very likely. It's unfortunate that developers in Boston are forced to think that way instead of thinking about ways to maximize the design of their structures.

Does the design of this building strike you as a place where H.R. Giger might feel at home? The dark (as someone else called it "brooding") pallet and pronounced ribbing gives me that sense.

Great point! I was wondering that myself. They probably don't even want to deal with that carport when they could have additional retail or larger lobbies. Could Parking as a whole be the "concession"? Could a residential building like this get through without ANY parking at all?

1) What type of feedback and information are you all expecting from tomorrow's meeting? 2) So how long, in everyone's estimation, before a new design gets released? 3) Do you think that this was designed with significant input from the committee, and do you think the firm has a "back-up" ready...

If the above turns out to be true, then the top 10 will include the GC Office Tower instead of the Fed! That would be quite impressive for so many new buildings to make the top 10! Boston is on a serious roll!
