    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

What are the actual specs for this building? I keep reading 625', but is that to the top floor or structural top? There's a wiki that cites to the MP website that says 685'! Went to the site and there it is..."...at 685 feet will be the tallest residential tower in downtown Boston". Can MP...

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

Not exactly sure where to post this news... please feel free to relocate. Anyway - IndyCar racing is coming to Boston. I think this is pretty cool and good news for the city. A little test run of a major event to get the anti-Olympic folks on board...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

I'm guessing this is probably more accurate once you account for distortion from the camera angle and the 3D compositing process.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Well done KZ. A view from my childhood... and my present actually. But that's exactly what I meant about the city being revealed to you as you round that corner and those hills.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's Good point. Living in NH, there is nothing cooler than driving down 93 on a clear day and actually glimpsing the Pru FROM EXIT 42!!! Love coming around the bend (around Medford/Malden) as the city reveals itself from behind the hills. Always loved that as a...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's From what I can tell, we are actually in agreement on this. My underlying point is that Boston is more about it's grand views, and shouldn't be judged negatively for the lack of "iconic towers" or tall buildings. The tall buildings, while nice to look at...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's Was thinking something like this. Maybe a bit derivative of Lincoln and Atlantic Wharf... but you get what I'm going for. Light blades/spires of some sort. But not "fins".

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's I'd say we really have more iconic "views" more so than iconic individual towers. As stand-alone buildings, I argue that Boston really only has 2 iconic towers. The Hancock and The Custom House. The rest are just part of clusters surrounding those two...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Re: Congress Street Garage Development I'd be willing to bet that the changes to the proposal had little to do with the actual height of the buildings as much as the shadows caused by that height. Look at the shadow impact pages of the PDFs and it is a significant change. I'm thinking those...

Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Christian Science Church Center Renovation/ New Towers The building that is the focus of the color rendering appears to be the High Rise. The low-rise building with the bulge is barely seen in the rendering. So it appears the high-rise, though straight-up/straight-down from the base up...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Re: Congress Street Garage Development This is nice. Great to think that some of this will come to fruition with the Garage being torn down. What ever happened to plans to develop the parcel that used to have the Mobil on it... right at the tip of the BF-Triangle? Would love to see that go...

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Re: Congress Street Garage Development What is really pathetic is that the low-rise portion of the JFK building looks just like the damn garage. Unfortunately, the JFK building is not slated for demolition.

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Re: Fenway Center (One Kenmore, Mass Turnpike PARCEL 7) FYI - On "Chronicle" tonight they are featuring a segment about the Fenway area. In the clip I saw it showed renderings of one of the new towers scheduled to be built. more info...

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

Re: Millennium Tower - Filene's If anything, I'd be worried about developers dragging their feet. Then they can see what kind of climate the next man in charge creates (pro-development, or more of the same) and then change their scope accordingly. Is that possible, or is there too much money...
