    The Official MBTA System Map

It just means a couple tunnels or protected reservations are in order to connect those thick yellow lines.

    The Official MBTA System Map

I was explaining the Mattapan line to someone today and showed them the map and realized... why is it displayed as "the Red Line"? It's a totally different line that connects to the Red. I assume 99% of riders use it to get to or from the Red, but it's most definitely not the Red Line. Would...

Police Details, Cameras, & Enforcement Methods

Oh, I am totally down for that. That probably would require quite a lot of cameras and technology but as a concept I have zero problem with auto ticketing this sort of scofflaw.

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

Fair, thanks for clarifying, sounds less bad in some respects. However, I would still say that the Forbes Building is better screened than this will likely ever be, with deep setbacks and despite not being an aesthetic marvel, still breathes residential which has messenging effects of its...

Got curious and googled this, one of the first results:

Police Details, Cameras, & Enforcement Methods

It's a very delicate issue and I do think one which, like so many things, tends to draw strong opinions that ignore certain pros and cons. I used to be totally against, out of a combined anti-Big Brother attitude but also out of frustration that local police seem to never bother enforcing...

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

I’m simply saying that it may not really capture a future reality that either does or does not have some major investment, by simply describing a current trend. You might say we’ve heard that Lowell is going to be the next hot city for twenty years too, but it still isn’t, yet if you plunked a...

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

I do think this is a bit of a static take (ie, not taking into account the impact of what happens once you get the stadium and the events)... not that "if you build it, they will come" is necessarily always the case, but I do think that in an urban area, particularly one where sports are popular...

Jamaica Plain Infill and Small Developments

Im amazed that this—a giant institutional project right next to the parkway (and the most charming two blocks of brick apartment buildings in JP) could even be considered at all, given the absurdity of the 632 Centre St saga. Fighting 4 floors as "too tall" for downtown JP, on Centre is just...

They seem to have a number of nice takes on urban row houses.

    Green Line Reconfiguration

Nice stuff. I think the universe where you also have E trains to kenmore also functions as UR as well. Both just enhancing crosstown connectivity.

    MBTA Buses & Infrastructure

I really hope they name the stop at Franklin Park, “Franklin Park”. It’s a major opportunity for placemaking—having a proper station with a name that’s not just the name of a cross street can create momentum for more of a place identity (the way people might say, “I live near Stony Brook”)… and...

    Biking in Boston

Thanks. This is pretty disappointing, honestly. First, I just don't get why Boston regional municipal transportation councils are so addicted to stoplights as being this pretend intervention that actually makes things safer. Better than nothing, sure, but all they do on roads like this is make...

    Biking in Boston

Have you seen any specific plans about Hammond? It’s just screaming for a road diet, surely it’ll get one?

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

I’m confused, I thought the whole point of this project was that the sports organization was going to pay for the renovation?

Whittier Choice Neighborhood | 1158 Tremont Street | Roxbury

Anyone know if there’s gonna be commercial on the first floor? Would make such a difference livening up this corner and area, even a little convenience store.

    Biking in Boston

I feel extremely unsafe biking in Dedham and Norwood. But I suppose it does come down to perception, which is subjective. It’s not out of concern for bike safety, I only bring it up because anyone who drives in the greater Boston area knows to behave themselves in Brookline, or else. I don’t...

    Biking in Boston

That's never been my experience at all, and Brookline is my home town. I have no problem hating on the fact that Brookline people are entitled, generally speaking, but I have always felt safer biking anywhere in Brookline than anywhere in Boston, or even Cambridge. First, there are tons of...

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Ive come around to the stadium plan. I'd rather see the city tear down the stadium altogether and revert back to the wild but I think this will be a good thing in the end. They absolutely should get rid of Shattuck, though, and if not 100%, as much of it as possible. Ditto the golf course.
