    A-Line Reactivation

I don't see how it could be at all surprising that business interests can be motivated to help eliminate transit, especially in this country with its history of streetcar conspiracy.

Wow, a good portion of the Northeastern campus would have been a highway.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Re: Driven By Customer 'Service' Parte Dos I commuted for most of a year on the D branch and now use the C branch occasionally. I found the Green Line pretty reliable. Though the lack of signal priority is pretty annoying. Oftentimes it is faster for me to walk to the St Mary's portal than to...

Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

Re: The Point (Boylston/Brookline) Yeah, it's pretty horrible around there. It's along my commute, but I intentionally cross Brookline a block over to avoid it. There tend to be a bunch of cars parked along there and there's also a dumpster blocking part of the walk. A new high/mid-rise would...

    Fairmount Line Upgrade

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Re: Driven By Customer 'Service' Parte Dos Any idea if the difference in fares would make up for the additional operating costs? I would be all for this if it's at least revenue neutral, but otherwise the legislature should put its wallet where its mouth is (e.g., repealing forward funding...

Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

Re: Assembly Square Redevelopment Parking can be integrated into a big-box store in a more urban way. For example, there is an urban Costco in Downtown Vancouver that integrates parking and also has condo towers built on top of it. It'd be nice if the same ideas could be applied here.

    Brookline Infill and Small Developments

It's this project. I think it's a sewer project that was mandated by the state. IIRC they're doing it now because MA is paying for it and there was no guarantee they'd get money if they postponed it.

Re: Liberty Wharf (Jimmy's Harborside) Excellent. Did you get that in Boston? I've looked around for Oregon beer here, but I've only seen Rogue Dead Guy. I prefer Deschutes Brewery to Rogue though.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Re: Green Line to Medford to start in 2011 Looks like there might be more legal action over the Green Line. From http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2011/08/26/somerville_blasts_green_line_delay/?rss_id=Boston.com+--+Local+news

    Biking in Boston

As of one of the (probably) younger people on this board, I think that people in newer generations are much less likely to be interested in an automobile-based lifestyle just due to awareness of certain issues (peak oil, sustainability, etc.). However, not only is infrastructure still lacking...
