    Biking in Boston

Melrose just recently added bike lanes to a few major streets including Lynn Fells Pkwy. They also reduced the speed limit on major roads to 25mph. I bike around Melrose all the time and most streets don't need bike lanes.

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

I agree this looks like a huge game system but I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing.

    50 Liberty @ Fan Pier | 50 Liberty Drive | Seaport

I dig the "skittles" lighting feature. Lots of other cities are building buildings with cool lights on them. Also going out on the weekend is more exciting when the place your heading is lit up from far away and looks like it actually has things going on after dark. I was flying to and from...

    Quincy Center Redevelopment

^Almost positive that TOD means transit oriented development and is not a developer who was selected to build this project

    Cambridge Crossing (NorthPoint) | East Cambridge/Charlestown | Cambridge/Boston

As a skateboarder I dig the extra sidewalk bubble, as it provides more space to weave through people on the sidewalk which is always difficult at corners. I do hate the 90 degree angles on those buildings, they should round the first floor in at the corners.

    🔹 What's Happening With Project X?

An area entirely made up of crumbling parking lots and old warehouses sounds like a pretty good spot for a large company to build a custom development. Also if a huge development goes up here I imagine better pedestrian connections could be made to both the Broadway and Andrew stations. I...

Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

It only takes about half a second to drift over 1 foot and hit somebody in a bike lane or on the side of the road. I skateboard most of the time to get around and if you look through peoples windows (which I do constantly) tons of people are holding their phones all the time when they drive.

Actually my roommate works for a company that is developing multi device sharing for gps/nav systems. He says the technology for automated cars already exists but has not been released yet do to minor imperfections. Essentially it won't become a feature for consumers until they get it perfect.

Malden + Melrose Infill and Small Developments

I moved to Melrose in 2004 and i'm pretty sure the building was empty then. There were some plastic tarps covering it for a couple years and I could never tell if any work was ever being done. Never really looked at it cause it was a dump. I always thought one day it would just collapse cause it...

Thats not a shool zone warning, I think it's just a people walking warning. School zone signs say "School zone"

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

Just because the people who own many of the units in Miami's luxury towers aren't full time residents doesn't mean the towers just sit empty all year. Also the population of Miami increased by just over 40,000 between 2010 and 2015. I would consider that pretty good population growth for an area...

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

I don't think the population of a cities metro area is a good indication of how big a city is. The 2015 population estimate for Miami is 441,000 while the estimate for Boston is 667,000. Boston isn't going to build skyscrapers because a bunch of people want to live in Lowell, Waltham, Braintree...

MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

Boston is about 1.5 times the size of Miami, and the same thing that happens in Miami is going to happen to many of the units in luxury high rises in Boston.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Re: South Station Tower That is actually a really bad trip. I don't think anyone on lsd wants to ruin there experience by staring at a giant grey concrete structure.

Back Bay Garage Tower | Dartmouth and Stuart | Back Bay

Agreed. Assuming all the large developments planned in the neighborhood actually get built, significantly more seating will be needed. Otherwise lots of people will be standing around waiting for trains.
