Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

David Ortiz got the bridge only because he's still alive. I think there is something in Mass law that says roads can only be named after someone who has died (x amount of years ago), and that's not there for Bridges.

Bill Russell Bridge | North Washington St.

We can't keep using our beloved sports icons' names for groan-inducing purposes. I hear Ted Williams in a traffic context more than I do in a baseball one. I would hate for one day, some Boston born kid to hear Russell Airport and thinks of waiting in line at TSA for an hour instead of 11...

    Proposed watertown ferry

isn't Fenway currently surrounded by new housing and a year-round entertainment zone?

    Proposed watertown ferry

that poor little casino had to buy 3 $1m pleasure yachts all on their own? I'm not too sure about revolutionizing the use of Boston Harbor with a deluxe yacht that carries less people than the 40 that fit in a Boston Water Taxi. But I'm also not expecting groundbreaking moves from a casino for...

    Proposed watertown ferry

I will say that is the smallest ferry I think I have seen. More of a water taxi if anything.

    The New Residential Conversion Thread

Reminds me of a time I was staying with my family in Florence. My dad took our rental car and drove up to the front door of our hotel, a couple of blocks from the Duomo. The bellhops/concierge were baffled with how we were able to do so, since it is illegal and pretty difficult to drive your way...

Other People's Rail: Amtrak, commuter rail, rapid transit news & views outside New England

To be fare, the real pathway is walk to station -> see sign for SMART APP -> download app -> open app and create account (and maybe an email verification) -> figure out where you're going and what the fare is -> load enough money to make trip -> tap. Oh shoot and now you've missed your train...

    The New Residential Conversion Thread

That building is on the corner, I feel like people could walk around for pickups. or maybe have a hotel only section with bollards? Are there any hotels in Boston with a address not 100% on the street that requires a walk up?

not to be too into the technicalities (if there's one place I can be it's here), but wouldn't the action for Fighting the Fare increase have been voting for Walter A. O'Brien? I would be very surprised if a politician was urging people to skip the nickel.

Get any Charlie slander off this forum. He never broke one law and learned to live with the consequences of his actions. That man is a hero.

Honestly I would understand fare evasion on the DC Metro; I considered it for a half second the first time I was trying to figure out the correct combination of peak/off-peak pricing and distance for my fare, and if I could use my phone to pay. After a long Amtrak Ride I just wanted to get to my...

Red Line Extension to Arlington Heights

that's going to be the toughest sell. I don't know too many people who would want to take the Red Line to the private jet. Actually I don't think I know anyone who has a private jet so that might be it.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

Boston Uprising was the name of Kraft's Overwatch eSports team a couple years back. Seeing as they weren't that good and an eSports team, maybe we should retire that one for now. It's not the Chicago Heifers or even the Tampa Bay Devil Rays anymore. Sockeyes might have worked, but maybe the...

Idea for fixing the housing shortage

Those might be within the Old Seaport Parking Lot Historic District. It's important to remind all these people moving into Seaport that once upon a time... this land was all government parking lots.

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

I saw someone on twitter say it should have been Salem themed as the Boston Witches, which brought me to the crazy idea of moving the team to Salem and cursing the city with year round traffic. or maybe just october commuter rail service year round

Franklin Park - White Stadium Renovation

https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/41809946/nwsl-newest-franchise-called-bos-nation-fc No longer "NWSL Team," now "BOS Nation FC." Probably the worst name possible for a Boston sports franchise, esp with the Boston Breakers being somewhat iconic, but here we are.

    Eliminate the River Roads?

east boston/north blue line access to an amtrak/commuter station would be a great addition. if we're going to continue to have a north/south disconnect with amtrak/commuter rail, it's never a bad idea to connect another northern part of the city with southern commuter/amtrak.

Fare enforcement makes me think of the issues in NYC right now. Fare evasion is a problem even on a cultural level, but the City/NYPD's response is to spend $150mm to recoup around $104,000. And, as we can see, citizens can die over others evading the fare. The best way to do fare enforcement...

Faneuil Gardens | 55 Faneuil Street/266 North Beacon Street | Brighton

concept images for buildings in Boston cheat when they show this much greenery. Yes, I love green space as much as the next one, but show me what it's going to look like in January when there's salt on the ground and we're already on to talking about the NEXT pats season. Oh, it's sad and boxy...
