This is just a hypothetical idea, but when the Custom House Tower came under city ownership in 1987 would it have been possible for it to have been repurposed to serve as a new city hall to replace the Government Center monstrosity instead of just becoming a hotel like it did? If I recall...

    Biking in Boston

For an American example of this, we have Chicago, which has bicycle-specific signals and protected bikeways throughout the downtown area. I'm not sure about the outer neighborhoods though, I didn't have the opportunity to check those out when I was in Chicago.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

That set of photos really just drives home just how massive One Beacon is to me.

New England Revolution Stadium | 173 Alford Street | Boston-Everett

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium The issue with this is that depending on the playoffs, the stadium would only be unused by the Revs for three to four months.

New Red and Orange Line Cars

If the final design ends up looking like that I would be very pleased.

Quaker Lane + Congress Square | Downtown

This has got to be one of my favorite projects in the pipeline right now, especially for downtown.

Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

Re: Congress Street Garage Development | West End Oh that makes much more sense. In the Globe article they used a picture of the taller building in place of the actual building.

Re: Congress Street Garage Development | West End Here's what I think is a new rendering, courtesy of the Globe. http://www.bostonglobe.com/magazine/2015/08/27/the-lowdown-condo-towers-coming-boston/BsHIdmQxvOXLxfWJpzQL6J/story.html?p1=Article_Related_Box_Article The article also says that...

"Why doesn't Boston have taller buildings?" on SSP

You guys they're gossiping about us and analyzing our insular behavior. This is strange.

Can't wait for that shaws and gas station to be redeveloped.

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium Would 10,000 be a good size for one of the two local lacrosse teams though? Since those don't necessarily need to be in the city since lacrosse is very suburban.

    Gov't Center Station Rebuild

These panels should be under some sort of warranty that keeps the T from having to pay extra, right? For once I'd like to have a project done on time and on budget.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Would it be possible to reroute the red line into the silver line tunnel into the seaport and then under wetter the bypass road or D street to rejoin the current RoW? Potential stops could include courthouse, a stop on summer street, and then a relocated Broadway station. I know that this...

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link There wouldn't be any freight in the NSRL if it ever gets built since the link would likely be electrified and so diesel freight wouldn't be allowed in there because of the fumes that the locomotives would generate. I think this is the reason anyway.

    Crazy Transit Pitches

Why the Blue Line though? It would make much more sense to me to send an Orange Line spur up that way.

    Millennium Tower (Filene's) | 426 Washington Street | Downtown

The official height of 685 feet seems about good to me. Although I'd be fine if it were to be around 700.

General MBTA Topics (Multi Modal, Budget, MassDOT)

Re: Driven By Customer 'Service' Parte Dos Correct me if I'm wrong but this poll seems to be a poll of commuters, which to me means people with jobs, and therefore does not include the unemployed since they don't really commute anywhere.
